Jennifer Hudson will come home for the holidays — and you'll get to see it all on her new ABC special. On Jennifer Hudson: I'll Be Home for Christmas, the Oscar winner will relive her childhood Christmases with musical performances filmed at her favorite locations in her native Chicago. Hudson, who gave birth to a son in August, will also visit family members, friends and other childhood influences during the broadcast, ABC announced.
This is a great accomplishment for Jennifer.I'm glad to see that she is able to keep going after such a horrible tradgedy. I'm also happy that she was blessed with a beautiful baby boy!
Mmmm,I can't wait to hear and see her perform those Christmas classics.I think one of her greatest strengths as a singer is that she can really make you "feel" a song. She emotes very well.
What song(s) do you think she should sing in her special?
Although Whitney's Little Drummer Boy is my favorite,I would like her to perform it. Also,Oh Holy Night as that is one of my fave's.

also check out Tom O'Neil's article(in case you haven't seen it on this site).he talks about if Jennifer would get nominated for an emmy for her special.if she did and won(not predicting)she would match barbara streisand with the trifecta of winning an oscar, grammy, and emmy.

I hope that the Christmas special is a success, and that she is at least nominated for an Emmy. Somtimes I get a little worried when people win a ton of awards, early in their career...peaking really early, and setting the bar too high for future endeavors. But with that said, I am very happy with Jennifer's success thus far - I LOVE LOVE LOVE her album, loved her films, and I know that this special will be emotional and pleasant. It would be kinda cool if we could add "Emmy - Award Winner" to her long list of accolades.
I'm glad she is getting back in the game! And I can't wait for her to jump back into the movie business. I was hoping that she would re-vamp her role in the "Sex In The City - The Sequel" movie, cause I loved her in the first one...but oh well. Anyways, Go girl!!!

And this is another reason why the Individual Performance category should be reinstated next year (though what really needs to happen is that it's split between series and specials, but that's not going to happen).
Yay J-Hud!

Motherhood definitely seems to agree with Jennifer Hudson, who gave birth to her first child, David – named after her fiancé, David Otunga – on Aug. 10.
From singing lullabies ("He can be crying at the top of his lungs and just turn off like a switch") to frequent bottle-feedings ("I’ve never seen a baby eat like he does!"), the singer (who chose not to address the tragic loss of her family members last October) offers PEOPLE an intimate look into her new life as a mom.
YES! I am sooo glad that she is back in the spotlight. With this Christmas special, the possible upcoming Mandela movie, and then rumours of a new album in 2010, Jennifer is definitely back in the game!
