On another note, I listened to the album again last night (only my second listen) and I must say that two songs that are at the end of the albums ("Mother" and "Shine") are flat out awful.

I like "Mother" a lot. I'm a sucker for songs about mom and Babyface songs.

Well it's not the end of the world.Plenty of artists have had low first week sales and still went on to sell platinum.All she needs to do is release the right singles and she's straight!

I like "Mother" a lot. I'm a sucker for songs about mom and Babyface songs.
"Mother" and "Shine" aren't very good songs, but I think that "Mother" has the potential to grow on me after a few more listens. "Shine" I just don't like.
Pretty sad this album is flopping. The album is growing on me more and more with each listen. Ashanti far exceeded my expectation, however my expectation were very low to begin with.
I'd give "The Declaration" 3 stars out of 5, maybe 3 and a half the maximum.

"Body On Me" is also on Nelly's album. He has his own version where he sings most of the song and Ashanti and Akon sing the chorus and other parts. It's his current single while "Good Good" will be Ashanti's 2nd single. The version of "Body On Me" on Ashanti's album has Ashanti singing most of the song with featured parts from Nelly & Akon but this is not her single.

Well the version that is being released is Nelly's version.It will appear on his album "Brass Knuckles".Besides at this point she needs all she can take in order to get another hit.
