Honey, I'm not sure if you have EVER followed the Grammy Awards. Let me break a few things down for you real quick:
- Biggest hits don't always get nominated and/or win Grammys - Previous wins don't equate to frontrunner status - High profile acts don't always win Grammys in the Dance field
To be honest, I'm not sure who the frontrunner is. It's too soon to tell. Best Dance Recording is always tricky to predict. I'd watch out for Lady GaGa. She is having a great year so far.

Honey, I do follow the Grammys. I am challenging you because I know you are notorious for downgrading Britney when it comes to her music and the Grammys. Your opinion is completely bias and therefore invalid to me.

I get what you mean, but this mostly applies to novelty songs ie. "Crank That". And a little tidbit for you, Britney's nominations have been some of her biggest hits (except for "Overprotected"). "Womanizer" is no exception.
- Previous wins don't equate to frontrunner status
But if the song was a big hit and raved by critics what does that make it then???
- High profile acts don't always win Grammys in the Dance field
Most of the time they do. Let's go with probability here.
And what you pointed out for Lady Gaga can be said for Britney. And Britney is a much more established artist with a better song and a bigger hit. Much respect for Lady Gaga, but IMHO "Womanizer" is a better dance song than "Poker Face". It will be a battle, though, for sure.

If my opinion is so invalid to you, then why were you asking me for it dear?
There is no need for you to challenge me as my opinion remains intact. Clearly, you have an unhealthy bias for Britney Spears.

This debate ends here. Hmph...the nerve!
Haha, I'm not bothered. I challenged you because you are predictable. I remember back when "Toxic" came out your opinion against it winning was so deluded and when it won you were "actually happy". Bull****!
You are simply one of those people who will refuse to give Britney anyt credit (by the way, I do have a VAST catalogue of artists I listen to) yet have nothing to back it up. This debate pretty much exposed it. Tata!

Usually I don't respond to such rubbish. But, this post warrants it. First off, were you even a member here back in 2004? Clearly you were not. For your information, I was one of many posters who liked "Toxic" and predicted it to win in Best Dance Recording. So, of course I was happy it won.
Secondly, I have liked some of Britney's catalog. So, there goes your theory. In addition, if you look in the Album Review thread, I gave Britney Spears' latest album a grade of 77 (B).
You are obviously delusional. I am done with this debate. Now, as you were!

Dummy, of course I was a member. My username says otherwise, but I was. I don't care whether you like Britney's music or not, or whether you gave her album a good rating. I. DON'T. CARE. Just as long as you can back up what you originally posted (which was disagreeing with me when I said Britney as the frontrunner). The only thing you gave me were reasons as to why a "big name" or "big hit" doesn't immediately qualify as a frontrunner, yet gave me Lady Gaga as your defense (WTF???) Of course, one can assume, reading from your posts, if it walks like a hater, talks like a hater, then it must be...

You are a complete idiot. I listed several reasons why Britney Spears was NOT the frontrunner in Best Dance Recording. Obviously, you failed to comprehend that. It's quite apparent that you care whether or not I like Britney Spears. Otherwise, you wouldn't continously feel the need to keep responding to my posts. Evidently, I got your panties in a twist. Get over it!
Your posts, like your miserable, pathetic life, are full of contradictions. I don't know why I even bother wasting my time on people who are beneath me. You can keep testing me if you want. However, I warn you now. This is one battle you will NOT win. You don't ever, EVER want to go to war with Gucci...K!
I'm not calling anyone a "front-runner," but Britney and Lady Gaga are easy targets in Best Dance Recording.
"Womanizer" was a big hit on the charts and marked the comeback for Britney. Lady Gaga landed a nomination for "Just Dance," which was also a big hit. Lady Gaga is definitely a huge star right now, and "Poker Face" has been as huge as "Just Dance". I think both Britney and Lady Gaga are early contenders for Best Dance Recording. Of course, it all depends on where they submit.
It's pretty obvious that Britney and Lady GaGa are the frontrunners in this category. I really don't find anything wrong with what Gucci is saying so I don't understand why there is some flame war going on in this thread.
I think Britney has the advantage over GaGa in this category. "Womanizer" is her big comeback single and has been one of her biggest hits in her whole career. Plus Britney is the much more established artist here and would garner more votes IMO. "Poker Face" is a monster single as well so it'll be a tough call but I think Brit's "Womanizer" would prevail. I love both songs to pieces.

Rihanna and Lady Gaga had the biggest hits in the category last year, but they lost.
That's definitely true. I'm purely assuming these two artists are frontrunners to get a nomination and possibly a win. I'm not sure what other dance songs are out there that could possibly contend though.

That's exactly what I'm saying. There are no real breakouts in dance thus far, which makes Britney the frontrunner IMO considering "Womanizer" was a monster hit PLUS she's a previous winner in this category. I don't know, do I not make sense here??? I think it's pretty obvious. When Gucci disagreed with me I of course asked why, he/she did not really give me any valid reason other than why Britney isn't the frontrunner and Lady Gaga is someone to look out for. That to me smelled kinda fishy. If you're going to disagree at least come up with something legit and intelligent. Like I said in my original post, I like "Poker Face" but not strong enough to beat "Womanizer".
I would have to say "Poker Face" is the frontrunner in Dance Recording. Lady GaGa is having an amazing year so far and it's too bad she can't compete in New Artist next year. Hell...it's too bad she wasn't nominated for last year. I don't think "The Fame" is eligible for Album unless the re-released version with bonus tracks (that came out on Oct. 28) is eligible.
I'm happy so many of you are loving off Lady GaGa right now. I was the one who introduced her to this board and some just brushed her off. I'm glad she's finally receiving the recognition that she truly has earned up until this point now. Great stuff!!!
