"Cobrastyle" wasn't nominated last year, but it was submitted. Therefore, it's ineligible.

My bad, I do remember seeing it somewhere and I guess it was on the nomination ballot. Thanks for correcting that out musicluva

I think there are some British artists that could fill in the slots on (at least) the song category, along with the more usual suspects:

Little Boots
Ladyhawke
The Noisettes

I don't know specific songs or albums, but I know they've got huge buzz, and I have heard songs by all three. Very cool.

Is it safe to say Lady GaGa is the Front runner for Both of these awards? Who else is competition?

Well she's the front runner for Dance Album.

In Dance Recording, the only strong and serious threat is Britney Spears' "Womanizer".

I think Flo Rida's "Right Round" and Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" would fit here too.

So, I was thinking, and how about Depeche Mode in both categories?

People keep saying that Lady Gaga and Britney will defintely win, but last year, I think there was a dance/pop diva vote split (Gaga/Madonna/Rihanna) that caused the overdue veterans to win (Daft Punk).
And that could be said about the album category too (Robyn/Kylie/Cyndi Lauper).

And thing is, Depeche Mode still doesn't have a grammy. If think there's a big chance they get nominated for the album, and that either "Wrong" or "Peace" (next single to released) has a chance of being the darkhorse in recording category. I could see this happening...

Like I said, it's just a theory, but Gaga and Britney could cancel each other out due to the fact they appeal to the same kind of voters, and that would allow someone who overdue to win.

"Radar" is now the 4th single off Circus (even though Radar was on Blackout)

I know I'm think too far ahead here, but if Radar becomes a hit this summer it may be a serious contender for the Dance Category as it is pure electro/dance. ("LoveGame" in same situation here)

Which is the best dance/electro song?

Womanizer

or

Radar

or

Poker Face

(Does Boom Boom Pow fit into this category?)

totally off topic but since they an nominate a non-songle, how about Kylie minogue's Speakerphone. I don't like her music but that's a great song. definitely more deserving than the likes of "boom boom pow"

even if, i would definitely pick poker face over any of those other songs. Its lyrics are raunchy yes, but it's one of the best pop songs since Umbrella.

this is what i was thinking.

give best eletronic/dance album to depeche mode or the pet shop boys

and gaga can submit hers to pop vocal album but give her the best dance recording.

I think Lady GaGa has this in the bag, but you can add Sean Kingston's "Fire Burning on the Dance Floor" to the list.
