I think we need to consider more actual Dance/Electronica artists versus pop stars.

for M.I.A., Jimmy would be a good choice even if it wasn't released as a single in US.

and her album should have bee nominated in Dance .electronica

It could have been nominated in Dance/Electronica, Alternative, Pop, Rap (since so many people consider her a rapper). She's truly diverse. I think she would stand a better chance releasing something in Urban/Alternative; at least she's a known name now, whereas that category is usually filled with lowkey acts with the most recognizable name winning. Her music screams Urban/Alternative.

But to be honest, Urbal/alternative is a "give away" grammy. it does not belong because it's just another category for R&B artists >.>/ but I would love for album to be in best alternative album and ALbum of the year at
least. it was one of the best of 2007-2008

I dunno what happened, did they not submit it? or what?

"Poker Face" is one of the 2009's best. I hope Lady Gaga get lots of Grammy nods. And win at least.

She could get "Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Dance Recording, Dance Album and a bunch more.

I love Kylie´s "sPEAKERPHONE" but I don´t see it nominated because it wasn´t a single and the album was nominated this year.

My predictions are:

1- POKER FACE- LADY GAGA
2- WOMANIZER/RADAR- BRITNEY SPEARS
3- WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER- DAVID GUETTA & KELLY ROWLAND
4-I KNOW YOU WANT ME - PITBULL
5- BOOM BOOM POW- BEP

A very good prediction. I think that group of songs are clearly strong contenders.

Now I see 8 or 10 songs with posibilities

POKER FACE- LADY GAGA
LOVE, ETC - PET SHOP BOYS
WOMANIZER/RADAR- BRITNEY SPEARS
THAT'S NOT MY NAME - THE TINGS TINGS
WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER- DAVID GUETTA & KELLY ROWLAND
WRONG / PEACE - DEPECHE MODE
SHE WOLF - SHAKIRA
I KNOW YOU WANT ME (CALLE 8) - PITBULL
BOOM BOOM POW- BEP

I think "I KNOW YOU WANT ME (CALLE 8)" will be nominated for Record of the Year at the 2009 Latin Grammy, but I'm not sure about the real potential of that song in the Grammy.

I doubt that Black Eyed Peas go to Dance Recording with "Boom Boom Pow", they might go to Pop Duo/Group. They might have a shot here with "I Gotta Felling" or with an other single (Missing You, Party All The Time)

Why is she wolf in here?

it does not sound like a dance record. and I think it would fit more in the rock or pop category.

I am loving "When Love Takes Over." Hope that gets some recognition this year. And I totally forgot about "Love Etc." but that song is killer! Does it have a shot?

I don't know how much play she gets here, but Little Boots is pretty awesome. I could definitely see her getting nominated for "On Repeat".

Also, I love the hell out of La Roux, but I don't think they will make the cut. "Bulletproof" is my favorite single of the year.

Haven't predicted here in awhile...so here I go...despite my knowledge of a whole lot dance music:

BEST DANCE RECORDING
David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland - "When Love Takes Over"
Lady Gaga - "LoveGame"
Britney Spears - "Womanizer"
Depeche Mode - "Wrong"
Mr Hudson & Kanye West - "Supernova"

I think these are pretty solid picks, mixing both pure dance artists (David Guetta, D.Mode, Mr Hudson) with popular artists (Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Kanye West).

For Your Grammy Consideration:
Kanye West for "Heartless" and 808's & Heartbreak
Adele for "Hometown Glory"
Taylor Swift for "You Belong With Me" & Fearless
Maxwell for "Pretty Wings" & BLACKsummer'snight
Kings of Leon for "Use Somebody"
The Cast of GLEE for "Don't Stop Believin' "
Mariah Carey for "Obsessed"

Yes, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be.

That's a stacked lineup for Dance Recording. It was definitely a great year for Dance tracks.

i think that bep will get nominated in dance recording with i gotta feeling, because i feel boom boom pow has more chance in entering pop performance by a duo or group than dance recording
