LEONA Lewis, one of the world's most successful artists this year, is snubbing the BRIT Awards in London after being ignored in all the major categories.
The Bleeding Love singer – who went home empty handed despite receiving four nominations last year – is reportedly furious after being ignored in all major categories at the prestigious music honours and is now refusing to attend tomorrow’s ceremony.
A source close to Leona – who flew into London at the weekend from America – told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Leona is making a stand and not going. She’s more likely to be curled up on the sofa with her boyfriend Lou in East London than to be getting glammed up for the BRITs.
“She may even jet out somewhere on holiday.”
The only nomination the 23-year-old star – who shot to fame after winning British TV talent show The X Factor in 2006 – has received is in the Best British Single category for Better In Time.
However, the shortlist for the category is based on sales and airplay, unlike the other honours which are decided by a special panel of industry experts.
The winner of the award is decided by public voting.
Following last year’s ceremony, Leona’s mentor, music mogul Simon Cowell, blasted the decision not to honour her.
He said: “I don’t like the BRITs. Leona at the BRITs should tell you everything about the record business. You should recognise and celebrate success, not sneer at it, wherever the artist comes from.”
Nice to see people finally waking up & realizing that Leona Lewis isn't as great as her fanboys make her out to be.
Seriously. All of Leona's post-Bleeding Love material have been so generic, plain, and boring. Add that to the fact that she barely has any stage presence when she performs.
Simon Cowell is just defending her to save face. He is, after all, the guy who pimped her to no end.
Maybe if Leona wasn't so....well...boring....she wouldn't keep getting snubbed. Seriously....her personality, stage, presence, and overall image is very forgettable.

This is very true...especially her stage presence! She needs to work on that...
If she wasn't nominated, there wasn't a real reason to go, and it's not a big deal that she's snubbing them. Good for her.

She wasn't nominated, so she doesn't have to attend. I'm sure her people told her not to attend.
But Leona has been getting snubbed at several award shows. I wonder what's everyone's beef with her. Although she is a talented vocalist, nothing really stands out. Leona is probably stuck behind the Mariah comparisons. They might need to find her a new image because the one she has isn't working well.
