Well, May 6th is gradually coming upon us. That's the release date that we currently have for the Queen of Dance's return to the music scene since her single from Sex In The City, "I Got Your Love" reached #4 on Billboard's Dance Chart. June 1st is also another release date out there. "Crayons" is the supposed name of the new cd. At first, I did not get it, but now I do. When you open a box of crayons, you have so many choices of colors to choose from. Which will you use first? Likewise, when Donna's cd comes out, which style of music will you want to hear first? She supposedly going to have several colors to choose from. Like the title of one of her previous cds says, "She's a rainbow". I have always been a Donna Summer fan. Despite the qualms of ignorant others, Donna Summer is an artist that can sing anything. Too may people box her in a disco box when she has won awards in various music genres. And disco is still around as far as I'm concerned. It's just called dance music now and it sounds more modern. No one out there sounds like her. So, Donna Summer fans, save your money so you can buy your "Crayons". "I'm A Fire" just thinking about it. And if you're lucky enough to find the teaser single the record company has released, which is already being played in clubs, post here what you think about it. If you're a Summer fan who has been waiting like the rest of us for some new sounds of Summer, post your thoughts here as well. "This time I know it's for real!" This will not be another greatest hits compilation! Add some color to your life with "Crayons" by Donna Summer.

she's a great singer and i hope the album is good but i don't really want to hear her doing anything but disco/dance music. hopefully that's what it will be.

I don't see why? Unless you're just used to hearing one thing come out of her. She does not like to be boxed in. I find it boring to have an artist continually release the same style of music without branching out and growing musically/vocally. But, ofcourse, that's just me (smile). I hope you buy it nonetheless.

i like lots of different genres of music but, i'm sorry, i just never cared for donna summer's ballads or "rock" songs for the same reason i wouldn't want to hear pj harvey doing disco. donna's great at doing dance music and she can do whatever she wants but it doesn't mean people are going to care.

You're right. Some people will care. Some people won't. As is the case with any music performer.

Do you work for Donna?
Anyway, "Last Dance" is clearly her best work.
And actually, fortunes, I'd like to see PJ do something a little more "mainstream". "Stories..." is easily her best album, and also easily the most accesible.

LOL. Ofcourse, I'm a true fan. We true Donna Summer fans all work for Donna. We work hard for our Queen. But don't tell Aretha (smile) I've already read one story of a fan taking Donna's teaser single to a dj at a club. Needles to say, the dj is likely to receive a copy already, but a fan took it upon himself to take it himself (smile, again) And no, the fan isn't me!

Donna may definitely be going out of the box on this one. Just like crayons when coloring (smile). May 20th looks like the release date. Here's the press release..

So far, every single Itunes customer review of "I'm A Fire" is positive. Every one is 5 out of 5 stars. I wonder how many of the reviews are from customers who aren't Donna Summer fans. Hmm. They read like they are all Summer fans. She has such great fan base support. Even after all of these years.
The previous news had "I'm A Fire" going from Billboard position #23 to #13. Well, it seems to have been to #14. Now, Donn's soon to be at #9. Wooo hoooo!!
The club teaser, "I'm A Fire" is climbing Billboards Club Play Chart. It's now in the top 10. The official single ("Stamp Your Feet") from 2008's "Crayons" release is soon going to be made available. After hearing a small clip of it, it sounds like it could be used as an anthem at a sporting event. I'm sure it's lyrics are personal. Along the lines of how some people box Donna in a "disco" box and say how she is no longer relevant to today's music because disco has died. Or how seemingly most seem to have forgotten that she's won awards in other music categories other than disco. Or how that gay rumor still rears its ugly head by those who have unforgiving hearts and 100% proof (sarcasm). Maybe that one has something to do with another musical act out there that goes by the name Donna Summer as well. I believe you Donna. God bless you!! All of these before mentioned things may be at the heart of "Stamp Your Feet" and the lyrics contained in the song. Donna Summer is relevant and disco is still present. It's just been renamed, revamped, modernized, and redistributed and titled "dance music". Listen to a small clip of the soon to be radio played "Stamp Your Feet" here at this link:
