In recent years we've had artists like Lil' Wayne, Kanye West, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, John Legend and Mary J. Blige receive the most Grammy nominations in a single year. So, who will receive the most nominations at this year's Grammy Awards? Will it be one artist or will it be multiple artists? Discuss.
Here is a recap of the most nominations in a single year this decade:
2000 - Beyonce, Dr. Dre 2001 - U2 2002 - Ashanti, Sheryl Crow, Eminem, Norah Jones, Avril Lavigne, Nelly, Raphael Saadiq, Bruce Springsteen 2003 - Beyonce, Jay-Z, OutKast, Pharrell Williams 2004 - Kanye West 2005 - Mariah Carey, John Legend, Kanye West 2006 - Mary J. Blige 2007 - Kanye West 2008 - Lil' Wayne
The last time an artist received ten nominations was in 2004. Kanye was the leading nominee, and he was nominated for a bunch of features/collaborations and technical categories. Plus, he had his own work in contention. There's no way Beyonce is getting that many nominations.
8 has been the limit for some years now.

LOL...
I don't think Cederick is joking at all. He has Beyonce in every possible category.

Beyonce recieved the most Grammy nominations in 2000? How many nominations did she recieve? And for what???? Haha..
And I'm going with Taylor Swift...and possibly Maxwell (his album) afterwards. I feel like he might get a lot of R&B and General Field nominations this year...he'll probably have more nominations than Beyonce (even though I love you, Bey!!!)
Here are the most nominations each leading artist received this decade:
2000 - Beyonce, Dr. Dre (5) 2001 - U2 (8) 2002 - Ashanti, Sheryl Crow, Eminem, Norah Jones, Avril Lavigne, Nelly, Raphael Saadiq, Bruce Springsteen (5) 2003 - Beyonce, Jay-Z, OutKast, Pharrell Williams (6) 2004 - Kanye West (10) 2005 - Mariah Carey, John Legend, Kanye West (8) 2006 - Mary J. Blige (8) 2007 - Kanye West (8) 2008 - Lil' Wayne (8)

I don't think Kanye will be nominated three times in Rap/Sung. The only songs I see him getting in for are "Run This Town" and "Knock You Down." Anything else would be overload. AOTY, SOTY and ROTY are quite possible. I don't see him getting into all three, though. He will most likely be the leading nominee yet again.
What about the Rock bands or oldies? I'm sure they will land a slew of nominations.

If Kanye is nominated for "Ego," then Beyonce will have 7 nominations...
