I'd say "Jockin Jay-Z" is the weakest song up there and "We Go Hard" is the strongest. I dont think these songs will all appear on the final version though.
What do you guys think about this albums potential?
I look forward to it because he always has raps you can quote. At the same time, Im really wondering if he should even bother to make another album after this one. Look how long this one is taking him to finish.

When is this album coming? It has been pushed back quite a few times. I'm actually looking forward to it. I'm not sure why he's putting out a third installment after all these years. He has had three studio albums since the last installment.
Not sure why, prolly because Blueprint 2 wasnt as great as Blueprint 1 lol.
I do like the title, and I mean, I think it has the potential to be good, cuz look, since his retirement, he did "Kingdom Come" which was a mature effort and "American Gangster" which was a conceptual effort. Both had their high's and lows.
But now it's like he is avoiding a major theme unlike his last 2 albums and is aiming to create the type of well rounded album we used to get from him, but with his current state of mind.
There is no set release date and I was kind of dissapointed cuz in an MTV interview, he admitted that, without time constraints, the album is taking him longer to do, so I guess he aint working on it as consistently as he would other albums.
I was mad sooped that he chose Kanye to handle most of the production, I had actually told people 2 years ago that he should do an entire LP with Kanye.

Dude is so secretive, it's criminal. Now Eminem about to drop, I know for a FACT he has to plan around that as well.
Originally posted by musicluva123: Dr. Dre is doing the same thing --- hyping the album but never giving it an official release date.
**** Dre, Im to the point where I hope the album is wack lol. Jay will have to drop this year tho, he aint a producer.
Jay was smart though, none of the songs he leaked went to iTunes, so he doesnt look like 50 Cent with flopped singles. Though, he admitted to "Jockin Jay-Z" being a single.
Originally posted by musicluva123: "Swagga Like Us" was supposed to be on his album, too. That went to iTunes, and he was credited as one of the lead artists on the track.
Eh, let's be real, that was a T.I. song. I mean, T.I. said in an interview that it was originally Jay's song, but that type of song does not match the music he makes, that statement even contradicted what T.I. said earlier when he said "Kanye, made this and said it was especially for me" cuz he sed Kanye knew how to make tracks specific to the artist at hand.
So, I think Jay just got some shine off a true T.I. track since "Jockin Jay-Z" wasnt poppin off. Jay on "SLU" = 50 Cent on "Crack A Bottle"
Track hit #5 for 1 week on the top 100 and stayed at like #30 for a long time, fake top 10 hit, pfft.
Edit* - Also, the rumor was that, the "SLU" that would be on BP3 would feature NaS, Andre 3000 and Young Jeezy (could do w/o the Jeezy).

Black Album is the last classic Jay delivered and I will debate that with anyone. I loved Blueprint until I really got into Black Album.
In the end, The Black Album is complete and flows damn near flawlessly and is the most introspective album Jay has ever released.
Kingdom Come - Excellent content, poor beats American Gangster - Excellent story telling, overrated production on some tracks.
Originally posted by musicluva123: The Black Album is Jay-Z's best album to date. Some people may argue that The Blueprint and Reasonable Doubt are his best. I beg to differ.
Nah im right there with you and I was old enough when Jay first came out. By now ive heard "Reasonable Doubt" and "The Black Album" plenty of times, Black Album nudges out RD by a tad, not a lot, but it's my #1 Jigga album.
Reasonable Doubt was an excellent album, but it's highly overrated. I always thought Nas' Illmatic was better, but the Jay-Z fans hate when I say that. The Blueprint was overrated but really good. Stankonia rightfully took Best Rap Album at the Grammys. The Blueprint would have been second up, though.
