I bought some of Michael Jackson's music onine today, first time I bought anything by him in years. I wish I had done it before he died. He will be missed.
I am sad about Farrah Fawcett passing away (may she RIP), but I was FLOORED when I heard about Michael Jackson's death.
I was at a rehearsal for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" when someone mentioned that two celebrities had died. Since I knew about Ms. Fawcett, I asked who the other was, and was shocked to hear about it.
They are both huge losses and I hope they both will RIP.

How many of you got scared when the "Thriller" video came out? Of course, I'm talking to those in their late 20's and 30s. I remember covering my face on my nanny's lap.
It's a sad day in entertainment indeed. My feelings go to his children and family.
And Perez Hilton......no comments. He's a despicable excuse for a human being.

No comments? Really? What about that "despicable" part? Or is that not a comment?
In case it did not occur to you, Perez Hilton is not responsible for Michael Jackson's death. All Perez said was that he suspected Michael might be faking (too bad this time he wasn't). People have been saying far far far nastier things about Michael for years--where have you been?

i was wondering that myself. I'm thinking that his death will cause a pretty intense war over who will get to interview Janet first: Oprah, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric or somebody else, when she does eventually decide to discuss his death with the public. Ditto for Elizabeth Taylor.

Perez isn't the most liked blogger at the moment. So, he should really lay off the celeb jokes for right now, especially when it comes to life and death situations. Whether he thought Michael was faking or not doesn't change the fact that he has a tendency to offend a lot of people with the bullsh!t he spews.
I can't even cry, I just am so shell-shocked and in a zone where I couldn't believe it. It does feel like losing a brother/dad/ or someone of importance. He was a part of my childhood. I'll be honest, I have always supported and stuck by his side, even through the trial and everything. I never ever gave up faith in him. I guess that's is why it hurts the most. Some people may have turned on him at some point, but I never have.
What is truly despicable is many of the same people now suddenly crying crocodile tears for Michael Jackson when for years they've been calling him a f@g and a child molester.
I doubt that many of you said a decent thing about Michael Jackson anytime in the past 15 years.
It is your hatred that killed Michael Jackson, and you have no right to be hypocritical about it now.
Neither one of them strangers to the strangest of headlines, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears also shared a stage. The duo performed "The Way You Make Me Feel" together for Jackson's 30th Anniversary Celebration, which aired on CBS in 2001..
"I was so excited to see his show in London," Spears said in a statement today. "We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone!".
Justin Timberlake posted a tribute to Jackson on his website..
"I can't find the words right now to express how deeply saddened I am by Michael's passing," the pop-R&B hitmaker wrote. "We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.".
And the proof of Jackson's tremendous influence on the next generation of music makers didn't stop there..
Beyoncé called Jackson's death a "tragic loss" on a "terrible day.".
"The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music," the 27-year-old singer said. "He was magic. He was what we all strive to be. He will always be the King of Pop! .
"Life is not about how many breaths you take, but about how many moments in life that take your breath away. For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honored to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael.".
Usher, who shared a stage with Jackson once, is also "deeply saddened" by the loss..
"May God cover you Michael. We all lift your name up in prayer. I pray for the entire JACKSON family particularly Michael's mother, children and all his fans that loved him so much," Usher wrote in a statement released by his rep..
"I would not be the artist, performer, and philanthropist I am today without the influence of Michael. I have great admiration and respect for Him and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to meet and perform with such a great entertainer, who in so many ways, transcended the culture. He broke barriers, he changed radio formats! With music, he made it possible for people like Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama to impact the mainstream world. His legacy is unparalleled. Michael Jackson will never be forgotten.".
Meanwhile, Sheryl Crow actually worked for Jackson, having landed a spot as a backup singer on his Bad tour in the late 1980s..
"His was a rare talent that we witness once in a lifetime," she said. "One who makes such an indelible mark that for generations singers and dancers attribute him as inspiration. I had the great privilege of watching him every night doing what he did best—entertain. I am grateful to have known him for the 2 years I worked for him and will mourn his loss with his many millions of fans across the world."

That's my opinion. Deal with it. You simply should never joke about people's health just for a couple of hits in your blog.

Wow, when I heard the new earlier this morning, I was just livid, didn't know how to feel, even when it was confirmed.
Now, that I have given it time to sink in, I am absolutely heartbroken. He was definitely a genius and his music will forever be a testament to that. Most of all he was an inspiration, not just to me but to millions of people all over the world.
I've always supported Michael, even when the media turned on him, of course I can't really vouch that he didn't do anything with those boys, but I will always remember him as the legend that he is.

And the remorse I'm feeling for his death right now is genuine, not "crocodile tears" or anything of the sort. I stuck with Michael through just about everything and through all of his legal battles. I didn't badmouth him, and I remained a fan throughout (have all his solo albums except the last one). This will at least get some people to revisit his work again or discover it for the first time, which is a comforting thought. The BET Awards are going to be a sad event on Sunday. They need to do something substantial to commemorate his musical legacy.
Congratulations, Primetime Emmy Winners!

This is very, very, very sad news and I am in SHOCK. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson and it is surreal to think that he is gone at such a young age. Music has lost a true icon and there will NEVER be anyone like M.J. again.
