What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Mary J. Blige has been through the storm and is singing about it on her new album.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul will release her 9th studio album Stronger on December 21. The first single, “The One,” features Drake and can be seen in a new AT&T ad airing now.
“The album represents who and what I am right now,” MJB said on set of the commercial. “I’m a stronger human being after all the growing pains. It’s about life, love, change, strength—mostly really knowing who you are and being confident in that.”
I can't wait til MJB drops another album. Technical Difficulty sounds like a title of a Rap album.
So, I'm assuming that she will have a single out by late May/early June. I hope there are no push backs to Christmas. I'm sick of her releasing her material during the Xmas season just to benefit off Xmas sales.
She might have a better chance of selling records if she releases them during the holidays. I mean, we all know thats why they released her last two albums around that time, and it helped her...it especially helped her out this past time around, when "Just Fine" wasn't blowing up as much as it should have. I wouldn't mind if she did it again this time around too. It will at least ensure that she reaches a platnium certification by the early months of 2010.

The Christmas season thing is getting old, and I don't think the Christmas season will be that strong this year. It will probably be worse this year as it was last year. Mary has a strong fanbase. It shouldn't be hard for her to reach Platinum status without Christmas sales. Plus, I would love for her to make this year's Grammy deadline.
I'd rather Mary J. Blige wait until the 4th quarter of 2009 to release her new album. That's what she normally does. Plus, she just won Best Contemporary R&B Album.

If Mary does release her album in late August, she should have some good promotion. She is supposed to be starring alongside Taraji P. Henson and Gladys Knight in Tyler Perry's upcoming movie, which should be released in September. So that might help drive her sales...
I just don't know if her fan base is as large as we think it is...I mean, yes, its large. But with the slumping album sales, is it a smart tactic? I just don't know if August is a good time. Either way, she'll still do well. And I know I am gonna buy her album, regardless. Heck, I'll probably buy two copies, haha. Love Mary!!!

Mary has worked with producers Salaam Remi, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, , Rodney Jerkins, Dre & Vidal, Ron "NEFF-U" Feemstar and Tank. Production for the album is still on-going and works with Stargate, Tricky Stewart, Bryan-Michael Cox, The Soundz and Polow da Don are yet to be announced. Writing credits for the album will include Shaffer "Ne-yo" Smith, Durrell "Tank" Babbs,Keri Hilson, Marsha Ambrosius, Eric Hudson, Sean Garrett[citation needed]
I'm glad she's taking her time with this album, hopefully the results aren't like "Growing Pains" and this one has lasting power with me. Haha, Ms Keri getting some more writing credit under her belt. I dig the album titles (both that have been mention)

"Growing Pains" was an excellent album. I loved it. The problem was the promotion, along with the release of singles. But for the very poor lack of promotion, the album managed to sell over 1.6 million albums in the U.S. alone, which is pretty good. And it recieved some good reviews. I'm glad it won the Grammy for Best R&B Contemporary Album.
I'm sure her upcoming album will do well also. I just hope that her managment does a better job of promoting it.
Yes, Mary for working with Salaam Remi. He is one of my favorite producers.
Mine, too! I can't wait to hear what they cooked up in the studio!!

Between the 2, I definitely like Me, Myself & Mary best. But Technical Difficulty is kinda clever, too. It's prolly the name of a track, also.

Were it my eyes or I was seeing "Mary Is Coming to Save Us"?
I mean if it was, thanks God. If not, from what she's saving us from? I hope from another rush album though.
