once again, no females nominated for Entertainer of The Year. why am i not surprised?
if Taylor Swift wins Female Vocalist over Carrie Underwood AND LeAnn Rimes, something is seriously wrong with the world. as of now, i am rooting for...
-Rascal Flatts in EOTY. -Paisley or Urban in Male Vocalist. -Underwood in Female Vocalist. -Rascal Flatts in Vocal Group. -Sugarland in Vocal Duo. -"5th Gear" for AOTY. -"Stay" or "Don't Blink" for Single ROTY. -those same 2 songs for SOTY. -"Online" for VOTY!!
and Lady Antebellum in New Duo or Vocal Group!!! i LOOOOVE them!!!

Well Swift can beat Underwood. I wouldn't have a problem with that. Neither one of them really released great tracks or albums, but Swift's singles performed much better on the charts and she's sold more. But yeah, neither should beat Rimes or Lambert who made 2 FANTASTIC country albums this year, and Rimes had one of the best singles of the year with "Nothin' Better To Do". But who are we kidding...Swift will probably win.
Emmy FYCs: (more to come) Julia Louis-Dreyfus, The New Adventures Of Old Christine Ellen Pompeo, Grey's Anatomy Elizabeth Perkins, Weeds Calista Flockhart, Brothers & Sisters Best Drama Series: Damages Best Comedy Series: The Office
Country music awards confuse me to no end. How is Kellie Pickler all the sudden new in 2008? Same for The Wreckers, who were nominated for a Grammy 2 years ago?
I would love for Miranda Lambert to win SOMETHING for her effort this past year.
I never realized the ACMs had such a variety of categories. Nightclub of the Year??? Casino?? Wow.
I agree with most of your 'rooting fors' RichterScale, and I agree, I love Lady Antebellum!!
I really want to see Kellie win Best New Female Vocalist but sadly it aint gonna happen. Im 100% sure the vastly overated(vocally) Taylor Swift will win! I also hope Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, and Kelly & Reb win....

i don't even consider her a vocalist. she's a warbler, not a vocalist. her voice sounds too whiny, flat, mopey, juvenile, and immature.
i really do not get the hype over this girl. she has no business being in the same category as Rimes, Underwood, Lambert, McBride. all of whom are exceptionally talented & superior VOCALISTS.

the entire album is stellar. but i've been listening to "I Run To You" and "All We'd Ever Need" for the entire day, seriously. i'm hoping they release any of those 2 songs as their next single. hopefully it's the former, coz i love that song more.

I agree with "I Run To You". That's definitely a winner. Their sound is so easy to listen to, and their voices really compliment each other well. And Hillary Scott is so beautiful. I'm so glad iTunes made "Love Don't Live Here" a free download, it's what made me interested in them.
Hopefully they win Best New Group. I love Michelle Branch, but The Wreckers are not new!! lol.

yeah, i work as a radio jock here. and we've been playing The Wreckers' songs since late 2006. how the hell are they in the Best New Group category?
Lady Antebellum for the win!!! (and "I Run To You" for the 2nd single! LOL!)
I also don't think that Taylor Swift is a great vocalist, but she is a great artist and songwriter, so she definitely has a strong chance of winning. Something to know about the country female vocalist award, whether it be at the CMA's or ACM's, the category is NOT based solely on vocal ability because if it was then in my eyes, Martina would win every year. If Taylor Swift does win this year, I feel it would be well deserved.

I agree with the vocal thing-Martina's awesome. I wouldn't mind Taylor Swift winning too much, I love "Teardrops On My Guitar".

Knowing that Female Vocalist at the CMA or ACM awards is not just about having a great voice, I think Taylor Swift has a shot in spite of her horrible live voice, seriously that girl is awful when it comes to live shows, anyway my point is these people have also rewarded Kenny Chesney in male vocalist and Kenny's voice is as flat as it gets.So who knows...
Anyway, here's who I want to win:
-Brad Paisley for Entertainer of the Year -Brad Paisley for Male Vocalist. -Carrie Underwood/Martina McBride for Female Vocalist. -Little Big Town for Vocal Group. -Sugarland for Vocal Duo. -"5th Gear" by Paisley for Album of the Year -"Stay" by SugarLand for Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year. -those same 2 songs for SOTY. -"Online" for Video of the Year. -Kellie Pickler for Top New Female Vocalist. -Jack Ingram(though he ain't new) as Top new Male Vocalist -Lady Antebellum for Top new vocal group or duo.
