You guys probably remember how I kept a ridic list of my favorite singles last year. Well this year it ain't happening (damn full time job). Anyways, it is fun to start this early so we see how are tastes change with what comes out throughout the year.

4. Kate Nash, "Foundations"

Basically, it's an 08 release to me if it didn't hit my radar until this year. Snoop's new song didn't, but Linkin Park's did. Snoop makes my list.

Seeing other people's lists, I forgot about the following:

Lupe fiasco, "Superstar"
Sheryl Crow, "Love Is Free"
Feist, "I Feel It All" (HOW COULD I FORGET MY GIRL??)

Get on the blogs son! They are "the" indie band of 08 (a la Arcade Fire, Beirut, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah). They play this reallllly fun afro popish stuff. Sounds like Paul Simon. It's really good. Check it out.

Also this WILL BE ROBYN's year. Back in the US, bitches.

What blogs do you normally check out, bildo10? Just curious.

I wonder what 2008 will bring for me. I was a hip hop/rap junkie in 2006 (Nas, The Dream, Jay-Z, J Dilla, Lupe Fiasco, T.I., Ghostface Killah, etc). I was all up in indie/alternative music last year (MIA, Arcade Fire, The Shins, Feist, Modest Mouse, Arctic Monkeys, Of Montreal, Radiohead, Tegan & Sara, etc). 2008 might be completely random. Pendulum swings with me.

I read pitchforkmedai.com, stereogum.com, and slantmagazine.com on a regular basis. I also read popmatters.com, and brooklynvegan.com occasionally. I have recently stumbled across popjustice.com, and it's awesome. It's British, and almost completely about pop/dance bands. They talk about all the big acts (Justice, Madonna, etc) but some newer acts I never would have heard of. (Alphabeat, Sam Sparro, Dragonette).

I agree FFJ, especially about indie last year. All the "big guns" (Rilo Kiley, Feist, Arcade fire, Interpol, Modest Mouse, the Shins...) released their albums. The only big one (and probably the biggest) releasing this year is Death Cab, which I'm excited for. Other than that and Mariah, I have no huge anticipated releses this year. That said, I'm sure I'll spend about 200 bucks on cds getting good stuff.

i think it's peaking in '08, right? in that case i'd consider it an '08 single. it didn't even debut on the chart until mid december...

bildo, have you heard the remix with robyn?

No, but the internets are all abuzz about it.

Do you have any info as to where I could hear it?

Damn, Robyn is my number 1 artist I'm excited for in 08. Pitchfork and Stereogum have clips of her show in NYC last night. She's beyond awesome.

PS, totally unrelated. Anyone going to Bonnaroo? I am.
