"Take You Down" from Chris Brown is my favorite song off Exclusive. Did anyone catch the video? He look like he want to be making babies.

I think I forgot "Funplex" by the B-52's. WTf?!? Such a fun song. I'm still thinking I might pick up the album.

Sounds like they just changed the lyrics to "Love Shack".

That's the B-52's sound. The girls alternate with Fred's talking thing on almost every B-52's song I've ever heard. And really, they don't sound much alike at all.

Oh wow. I'm addicted to "Mercy" by Duffy. Do we have a new Amy Winehouse? This song could be huge.

I was just going to write about her. And while the future may be saying 'No No No' to Amy Winehouse, I think it'll say 'Yeah Yeah Yeah' to Duffy.

I love that! Definitely going on the Lazy/Relaxing playlist whenever it's available.

I'm not really all that into Duffy. She seems like a fad at the moment to me.

Sheryl Crow's Detours and Madonna's Hard Candy are the two best albums I've heard this year.

I can now add Jamie Lidell's "Jim" album to my list of the best albums of the year. Man, it's good. I bet Gnarls Barkley are gonna listen to it and think "now THAT'S the record we should have made."

And yeah, Sheryl is still at the top of my list.

New songs I'm loving....

Annie, "I Bet Your Girlfriend Hates Me"
Sam Sparro, "Black and Gold"
Duffy, "Mercy"

Albums I bought this year, sort of ranked...

Robyn
Hot Chip, Made in the Dark
Kate Nash, Made of Bricks
Madonna, Hard Candy
Mariah Carey, E=MC2
Santogold
The Raconteurs, Consolers of the Lonely
Hercules and Love Affair
(and then a huge gap)
Gnarls Barkley, the Odd Couple

So far, a bunch of VERY solid albums this year. Other than Gnarls, i'd give every other album a solid B or higher.

Yeah I would have given this album a solid B/B+ when I first listened to it, but I'm not listening to it at all anymore already (after maybe 2 listens), and when a song has randomly come on my iPod ("No Time Soon" being one), I thought it was terrible and had no desire to listen to it.
Plus Jamie Lidell just released an album that's in similar style to Gnarls, and it kicks "The Odd Couple" to the curb.

Kind of an interesting point. I think it's the same for a lot of people. Even though "Love in this Club" is really well-liked, it's on its way out, which may not bode well for Usher's new album (at least initially).

I used to really like Love in this Club, but it gets quite old fast.

However, Bleeding Love is the best song to blast in a car full of people who want to act desperate or obnoxious and are ready to sing.
