ALICIA KEYS -- "Doesn't Mean Anything"

Video Clip

The video's lacking, and that's too bad since I was looking forward to finally seeing this one. There's too much talking in the beginning of it, and then the special effects become hokey when she gets to the "desert." The treatment could have been so much better than this. I still think the song's great though.

LEONA LEWIS -- "Happy"

Video Clip

Beautiful video to go along with this great song. And a little twist is in there too! Very nice. This is the kind of level that the "Doesn't Mean Anything" video should have been on. Take some notes, Alicia.

This video seemed like an answer to Usher's "Moving Mountains", which was executed a lot better. But oh well. I was expecting the video to be better too.

Wow. Great video.
Just shows you how amazing "Love On The Inside" is that you can have this strong of a track as your 5th single (and they still didn't realize the amazing "Love"). Interesting to see if this becomes a big hit, even though it's single #5.

I love the video, she can soo pass off as a Latina, it has a great story line that go perfectly with the song and the cinematography is good as well. I love those shots of her in front of the ocean at night.

That was exactly what I was thinking when the desert scene came on. When she started climbing the mountain, I was like "didn't Usher already do this?".

But damn! does Alicia look hot with her straight hair in the apartment part of the vid.

THE BLACK EYED PEAS -- "Meet Me Halfway"

Video Clip

This is one of the best songs off of "The E.N.D." Really glad it's a single, and the video's epic. Fergie's stunning in this.

True, the song is kinda cool, probably the only one in this I album I think so.

But I don't care how much money and special effects they used on this video, it's just cheesy.

I mean, stars writing the name of the song in the beginning with wedding video like letters? Really?
Looks like an AV club geek with bad taste who spends most of his time making fan videos for youtube that got rejected from any filmmaking colleges directed this.

This is big proof that a hot song and lots of money do not make a good video alone. I mean, everyone knows that by now, but the BEP probably not.

If we're just talking about cheesy special effects, I think that "Doesn't Mean Anything" has this one beat handily. But I do see your points.

OWL CITY -- "Fireflies"

Video Clip

I kinda love this song now, though Ben Gibbard called and wants his voice back.

I posted this here like a month ago, but no one seems to really be into him. I can def see the similarities between the voices, but regardless, mainstream needs more music like Owl City and Death Cab For Cutie

Sorry for the repeat. I looked back a couple of pages and didn't see it. You should have said more about it back then. I'm playing this song on a loop at the moment.

Another video falls victim to the green screen curse.

PINK -- "Funhouse"

Video Clip

Love the way they did this video. Dave Meyers gets Pink in a way that few directors do. The random Tony Kanal cameo was great too. It makes me wish that No Doubt would get back on the scene again ASAP.

Really great hearing new work from him. The effects to this video are a highlight.
