Blender Magazine on Kelly Clarkson:
" The Texas native has one of the great voices in pop music, a powerful and versatile instrument that’s steeped in the rhythm and blues and country music she grew up with in the South. If Mariah Carey’s five-octave voice is the equivalent of an expensively bred poodle, then Clarkson’s is a bloodhound: friendly, earthy, but fierce just the same."

Baltimore Examiner (concert review):
"Her sultry voice is absolutely flawless. The tone and range floors you. When she belts out a note, it's precise yet powerful."

"Music is powerful, it's a drug that makes your inhibitions go away and leaves your vulnerabilities exposed" - KC

Same here. Haters might complain.

But let's all face the truth -- there wasn't a female vocal performance this year that was as powerful as "Just A Dream".

Carrie definitely deserves to win again.

FEMALE VOCAL
------------------
Carrie Underwood - Just a Dream
Lee Ann Womack - Solitary Thinkin'
Tanya Tucker - Walk through this World With Me
Miranda Lambert - Dead Flowers
Martina McBride - I Just Call you Mine

**Underwood will get nominated and probably win this in a cake walk, though it is far from the best. I don't understand why people are predicitng Reba getting nominated for Strange as that is one of her weakest singles, ever. McBride is usual filler and the song isn't country, instead like most of her recent output its vanilla adult contemporary. Tanya Tucker or Miranda Lambert would win this in an ideal world.

Would prefer the nominees to be:
Tanya Tucker - Walk through this World with Me
Ashton Sheppard - Takin' off this Pain
Lee Ann Womack - Solitary Thinkin'
Miranda Lambert - Dead Flowers
Sara Evans - Just Like a Love Song

MALE VOCAL
------------------
Brad Paisley - Then
Keith Urban - Only You Can Love Me this Way
Darius Rucker - It Won't Be Like this For Long
George Strait - Living for the Night
Hank Williams, Jr. - Red White and Pink Slip Blues

**Paisley should get in for Then or Welcome to the Future and Urban is all but guaranteed a nomination, and they'll probably nominate Rucker, as well because all three of his singles have gone to number 1 and he is alright vocally. Williams, Pride, Kristofferson, and Lee Lewis will fight it out for the old geezer slot. This is Strait's best song in years and he wrote it as well. Strait or Paisley should take this.

Would prefer the nominees to be:
Brad Paisley - Then
David Nail - Red Light
James Otto - Since You Brought it Up
Dierks Bentley - Feel that Fire
Billy Currington - People are Crazy

COUNTRY DUO
----------------
Zac Brown Band - Chicken Fried
Brooks and Dunn - Indian Summer
Sugarland - It Happens
Lady A - I Run to You
Little Big Town - Good Lord Willing

**As long as Rascal Flatts and Glorianna aren't nominated I'd be very happy. Why didn't Sugarland submit Already Gone? That was much better than the two they did submit. Brooks and Dunn will probably win this as they are calling it quits in a couple months, plus the song ain't half bad.

COLLABORATION
------------------
Carrie Underwood & Randy Travis - I Told You So
Kenny Chesney & Dave Matthews - I'm Alive
Lee Ann Womack & George Strait - Everything but Quits
Tanya Tucker & Jim Lauderdale - Love's Gonna Live Here Again
Brad Paisley & Keith Urban - Start a Band
John Fogerty & Bruce Springsteen - When Will I be Loved

**A pretty good lineup here, but let's pray though that the Cryus family duo doesn't sneak in here. Chesney is actually tolerable on I'm Alive. Start a Band is kind of stupid, but it does include two of the genre's biggest names. Love's Gonna Live Here was the best track on Tucker's album and she should win this but more likely it'll be Underwood & Travis.

SONG
-------
Dead Flowers
Living for the Night
Sissy's Song
Then
Welcome to the Future

**All of these songs are pretty good. Maybe Swift will sneak in for White Horse and replace Alan Jackson's heartfelt ode to a friend Sissy's Song. But Welcome to the Future should win this

ALBUM
-----------
Brad Paisley - American Saturday Night
Taylor Swift - Fearless
Keith Urban - Defying Gravity
George Strait - Twang
Tanya Tucker - My Turn

**Yikes this is kind of a weak category. Maybe Womack will sneak in or Sugarland too, but their's was a Live album so who knows. Tucker's interpretation of country standards was the best country album of the year, and, of course, country radio, as a result, played it exaclty ZERO times. Country radio will play George Strait or Alan Jackson burping, but if a 50 plus woman puts out a fantastic album she gets nothing. Paisley's is great as usual. Keith Urban is the male Martina McBride, not vocally, but just how bland they are!

Perfer:
Tanya Tucker - My Turn
Dierks Bentley - Feel that Fire
Lee Ann Womack - Call Me Crazy
Billy Currington - Doin Something Right
David Nail - I'm About to Come Alive
Brad Paisley - American Saturday Night

I agree with most of your predictions. I really think this is Tanya Tucker's year. Her first new album in years, really really respected producer, CD is dedicated to her late father, extremely well reviewed and Tanya has NEVER won a grammy!!

Only problem is that in the Female category her label submitted so many songs so the vote will be split among all the songs and she probably wont get nominated there.

Is Carrie having a four-peat if ever she wins this year?

As much as I'm gonna be happy if ever she wins again, I have a hunch that the trend will stop this year. However, I know she'll be back next year with a new album and a killer single to boot.

I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.
