I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately, and I think this year may be the most interesting of all.
Kris Allen, winner of American Idol: Season 8, debuted his lead single on Z100, which seemed like good promo to me. Then, it seemed to completely stop. I read somewhere that he filmed a video recently, which I assume means more promo is to come, but I've been shocked at the lack of promo for this song - and really for him and his album as a whole.
On the contrary, I feel like I'm being force-fed little nuggets of info about Adam Lambert's debut album as if it is sure to be the second coming.
And Allison Iraheta's single had a somewhat wide debut, but it seems to be lacking any real support, as well.
What do you think of the Idol Powers That Be and their promotion of their winners (and runners-up)?

If Adam Lambert's album is good, then he'll see a lot of success from his debut album. He has gotten a lot of promotion even before a first single dropped.
No one seems to care much about Kris Allen or Allison Iraheta's debut albums (except EW.com).
