Melanie B. has confirmed that another reunion is in plans and a big surprise. The surprise is that Geri "Ginger Spice" is going to produce a stage musical about the story of the group and that is going to be " a 2 hour pop extravaganza".
The first tour was a huge success and ended before the initial plan even though they had sold out shows to present. Fans were asking for a dvd release, but Simon Fuller did it because after the big worldwide response he was planning for more. The new tour will take part in the 5 continents and many more countries.
There is also a rumor about a new studio album. But, they are back.

This is the example of not striking the iron while it's hot. It was perfect timing back then, Mel B was hot from "DWTS", Victoria Beckham was hot and cool just because, and the others....well, anyway, they could've done it at that time. Like the previous comment, who cares now?

Spice Girls actually play a pretty big role in a lot of people's memories. One way or another, you were affected by them. They were everywhere. And a lot of especially young girls were enthralled by them. I bet you they'd be massively excited now to get a bunch of close girl friends together and go re-live some of their youth to the catchy pop songs and dance moves. I think there'll be a huge market out there who'll eat this up, so I say why not?
