Some ideas for alternative album....

Grizzly Bear's "Vekamist"
Yeah Yeah Yeah's "It's Blitz"
Animal Collective's "Merriwether Post Pavillion"
Lily Allen's "The Fear" (although it should probably be in pop)
Franz Ferdinand, "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand"

In the rock categories there's gonna be some Dead Weather love. "Treat Me Like Your Mother" is the single, "Horehound" is the album.

It's gonna be a GREAT battle between Green Day and the Kings of Leon in the Rock categories. I can't choose.

As much as I love Green Day, I think Kings of Leon deserves every rock award it can get for "Use Somebody". Bring on that ROTY Grammy too.

Could The Fray possibly go the Pop route instead of competing in the Rock categories?

The Killers, Day & Age, for Best Alternative Album

FYC:
"Up" for Best Picture and Kathryn Bigelow for Best Director

The Fray submitted "You Found Me" in Rock and "Never Say Never" in Pop; they also put "You Found Me" in Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

I think Lily Allen put her album in Best Pop Album, not Alternative.

You're right, my mistake. She put her album in Pop; I was just going by another list I'd seen and not the real contender list.

I'm rooting for Grizzly Bear's "Veckatimest" to win Alternative Album.

I'd be equally happy if Animal Collective or The Yeah Yeah Yeahs take it though.

I've got to think it's the YYY's year to win best alternative album. They were nominated for their last two, but were up against pretty tough competition. This time they are the veterans, and they have taken a major popularity step up this year.
