Why do these people get so bad? Not that Suit-Sweat was amazing, but common, I expected AT LEAST a decent single....people didn't even pay attention, maybe it's because he waited too long and people moved on....
I'm trying to remember the five singles...hmm...
First was "Wadsyaname" which had the same sample from K-Ci & JoJo's "All My Life"...HORRIBLE.
Second was "Party People" featuring Fergie.
Third and Fourth were "Bay" and "Step'd on My J's"
Fifth is of course "Body On Me" featuring Akon and Ashanti.
YIKES...Nelly is in TROUBLE!!! 5 failed singles ("Body on Me" is his strongest so far, but its not goin' up the charts like it should be), means he ain't gon be sellin' no records this time around! I do like his featured performance on "Here I Am" by Rick Ross though!
For Your Grammy Consideration: Kanye West for "Heartless" and 808's & Heartbreak Adele for "Hometown Glory" Taylor Swift for "You Belong With Me" & Fearless Maxwell for "Pretty Wings" & BLACKsummer'snight Kings of Leon for "Use Somebody" The Cast of GLEE for "Don't Stop Believin' " Mariah Carey for "Obsessed"

Whoops my bad!
Nelly is on his SIXTH single. Has anyone heard "Warrior" yet? That's the latest single getting airplay. I'm not sure if a video is being shot, though. I guess the label wants to see if it hits.

I was gonna mention "Warrior" b/c they did initially say it would be on the album, but now as it turns out it won't be. Same with "Wadsyaname" and "Bay."

yeah it looks like he's in big trouble...that album might sell a little at first, but with no single to support it it's gonna be a huge flop....not even 50cent/Curtis flop....HUGE flop....6 tries and nothing? what kind of album is that?
I'm just so excited about this last quarter of the year! Y'all know how I am when it comes to R&B, so you can bet your ass that I'm getting the following albums on their immediate release dates:
Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Hudson Raphael Saadiq, The Way I See It Ne-Yo, Year of the Gentleman Robin Thicke, Something Else Jazmine Sullivan, Fearless John Legend, Evolver
And of course...
Beyoncé, Virtuoso Intellect
Also, I just bought Solange's album and it's really good.
Originally posted by DoubleD: I actually really like Virtuoso Intellect an an album title. That's an album title that I totally wouldn't expect from Beyonce.
And, IMO, it's always a good thing when an artist does something that isn't expected (musically, that is).
I completely agree.
That's a title that was totally unexpected from her (at least from my standpoint as a big fan of hers).
She's always trying something that's different for HER, so I'm definitely interested to hear any tracks that have already been leaked from it.
Also, B'Day was a fantastic album IMO, so I'm just hoping that she can capitalize on its quality and success. At first, B'Day wasn't really a big hit with me overall. Now, I can't keep it out of my CD player.
I don't wanna turn this into a Beyonce discussion, so back to topic.
^^Supposedly, Christina Aguilera is releasing an Album this Winter. She has kept it VERY low key and she just released a commercial for her new fragrance and the song in the commercial is supposed to be on the new album. it sounds HOT and a new sound for Xtina. Supposedly, the single will Drop in September.
It's funny you mention Christina because I was just thinking about how she waits too long in between albums. Back to Basics was a commercial disappointment so she really does need to release a new album soon or people will forget about her.
I was guessing she was releasing an album too (Christina) ans so is Justin. (He said late 2008 early 2009, im going for late 2008 since the sales of early 2009 suck)
All three (Beyonce, Justin and Christina) might debut their singles at the "Fashion Rocks" event since they're all gonna perform and they don't have anything new right now.

One of the most unfortunate stories in all of music. A case of misfortune? Could be. After two consecutively shelved LP's, Baltimore is set to release her new studio album sometime in '08 (which will technically be her third). As the saying goes..."three strikes, you're out." Perhaps the third time will be the charm. A track titled "Lose It" (produced by Scott Storch) has been leaked for a while now. And uhh...yeah, it's pretty sick.
My assumption is that it was her connection to Murder Inc. That same connection nearly destroyed Ashanti's career. I think people tend to forget that Ashanti was one of the hottest female recording artists in the industry less than 5 years ago.
Metallica, T.I., AC/DC top fall album releases By JAKE COYLE,AP
NEW YORK (AP) - This fall is full of questions for the topsy-turvy music world:
Will Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" finally be released?
Can Britney manage a comeback?
Will anyone escape the tween typhoon of "High School Musical 3"?
Nevertheless, five albums to look for (we think):
"Death Magnetic," Metallica: On Sept. 12, Metallica will drop their much-awaited, Rick Rubin-produced new album. Their ninth studio disc - and first in five years - is said to return the band to their speed metal roots. The band has been shy about playing the new tunes in concert, but expectations are high thanks to Rubin's involvement. Even with all their black clothes, Metallica's fans remain an extremely hopeful bunch.
"Paper Trail," T.I.: The Atlanta-based rapper returns with his sixth album, which already boasts a hot single: "Whatever You Like." Due out Sept. 30, "Paper Trail" is all but assured of keeping T.I.'s streak of No. 1 albums intact. But the rapper (real name: Clifford Harris) will also have a balancing act in promoting it. While he continues to rap about violence, he's also speaking against it as part of a punishment handed out in March after pleading guilty to federal weapons charges. Besides at least 1,000 hours of community service, he faces almost a year in jail.
"Black Ice," AC/DC: It's been eight years since AC/DC made a studio album, and a lot has changed since then. For starters, just look at how the seminal Australian hard rock band is releasing their new album on Oct. 20: only through Wal-Mart, Sam's Club stores and ACDC.com. Stoking excitement have been reports that suggest "Black Ice" bears similarities to AC/DC's classic 1980 disc "Back in Black," one of the best-selling albums of all time.
"Dear Science," TV on the Radio: Not all the hotly anticipated albums are surefire chart-toppers. Music fans are also eager for new material from Lucinda Williams, Jenny Lewis, Kings of Leon and this ambitious Brooklyn band. TV on the Radio's last album, the absurdly named "Return to Cookie Mountain," topped many critics' best-of lists for 2006 (including this writer's). With each subsequent disc, TV on the Radio has seemed to mature - a trajectory that suggests very good things for "Dear Science" (out Sept. 23).
"High School Musical 3: Senior Year": Don't even try to fight it. The latest big-screen installment - and the accompanying soundtrack out Oct. 21 - of this Disney Channel phenomenon will be received with teenybopper hysteria in late October. If you must, begin constructing your bomb shelter now. But don't stop, even for a second, to gaze into Zac Efron's eyes. They ... will ... draw ... you ... in.

Originally posted by DoubleD: Yeah whatever happened to Charli Baltimore? I saw her on a VH1 reality show---"Miss Rap Supreme"---a few months back.
Why did her albums get shelved? Was the quality THAT bad? Or was she just another casuality in the collapse of Murder Inc.
Cold As Ice (her first album) was delayed several times due to friction between herself and Epic (her label at the time). As a result, it was only released promotionally.
I have no idea what happened with The Diary, which was supposed to be her second album released on The Inc. I agree that I think it had something to do with the shadyness of the label, which probably led to her leaving. Unfortunately, she's currently in the process of re-signing with them. I don't know if that's good or bad. I guess only time will tell.
Anyways, as someone who's heard Cold As Ice, I wouldn't say the quality was bad. Charli has a nice flow but her delivery is weak, which can make the execution on certain tracks very tedious. She's good but she's not as convincing as a Foxy, or a Lil' Kim for matter. I do like her, though.

I heard the same thing. Christina Aguilera really needs to drop her new album around November-December to capitalize on the holiday season. She can't afford to wait 3-4 years in between albums like she normally does. I am looking forward to the new project.
