Please tell me you're joking with your description of the song...
But yeah, its stay at #1 was interrupted briefly by Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven." Due to downloads it debuted at #1, but Mariah was back at the top the following week.

I don't think that anyone was complaining when Mariah Carey was dropping albums every single year of the '90s, so I don't see why people are so sick of seeing Beyonce. She's easily been this decade's most popular female artist so I think it's wise for her to continue capitalizing upon that.
When people look back on the '80s, they usually remember Michael Jackson and Madonna the most (Whitney, Prince, & Janet as well, to a lesser extent). The '90s was all about Mariah Carey. This decade there have been several popular artists. After it's all said and done, Beyonce will most likely be this decade's most memorable artist (along with Justin Timberlake). Include her work with Destiny's Child and she's probably been the most successful female artist as well.
She's my favorite female artist so of course I'm highly anticipating her return.

No I'm not joking. I know the Mariah fans will stone me, but I think she has had WAY better songs than "We Belong Together."
I knew Mariah wouldn't win ROTY/SOTY for that song. If "Vision Of Love" couldn't do it, then "We Belong Together" certainly wasn't going to do it. Besides, there were better songs nominated that year.

Greatest Hits or #1's should be proof enough that she's had much MUCH better songs than We Belong Together...
Also with a new album out is Joan Osborne, of "One of Us" fame. Album was released on Sept 9. First single "Hallelujah in the City" has trademark gospel-tinged rock. Produced by same team of RELISH, nominated for Album of the Year in 1996. Available to check out on iTunes.

Speak On That ****,Mr.Talented!
I agree...But I would also add Alicia Keys to that list two...
Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys and Kanye West will probably be remembered as the decade's top artists.

Marc Broussard and Ray LaMontagne are coming out with new albums in the next month. LaMontagne's first single is AWESOME.
Not that anyone cares about them on these boards. Sorry, let the Beyonce/Britney debate continue.
Grammy FYC: Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak; Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D.; John Legend, Evolver; Paolo Nutini, Sunny Side Up; David Guetta, One Love; Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone"; Jordin Sparks, "Battlefield"; Kings Of Leon, "Use Somebody"; Maxwell, "Pretty Wings"
Yay! Love Britney but seriously, Beyonce will whoop her ass!
First Ashanti, then Christina and Jessica, Now Kelly and Britney!
I'm really happy that Britney is serious about this release, but poor girl, she doen't know whats coming to her for choosing a release date close to Beyonce's (Same goes for Kelly Clarkson, and no one cares about Brandy)
