The nomination process is almost over.
I'm assuming the Blue Ribbon panel will meet this weekend (or next weekend at the latest) to handpick the General Field nominees and finalize all nominations. They may have already done this last weekend.

Some of you guys have some really solid predictions. nice job.
Was Kings of Leon entered onto the BNA list? You know what, I have this sudden inkling that SEX ON FIRE will bring the Kings to all the marquee categories.

it seems as if everyone is in near agreement about this year's line up and it is so lackluster. It almost seems as if people are afraid to jump out on a limb and make wild predictions...Maybe NARAS won't make wild choices. But let's be real: Do we really think that all of the hot new "it" British girls are going to make it?
That aside, I am working on my list but just want to ask why everyone has written off Madonna and HARD CANDY? Sure it wasn't the best reviewed of her career, but it was mostly very well-reviewed and the concert has been a success (I went, and was pleased that the audience collectively seemed to know the words to all of the new songs)
I am going out on a limb to say it will be nominated for AOTY and maybe (hopefully) more...I will be written off as a Madonna fanatic, but she would be a good fit amongst the choices i have been reading for months here.

It's the same with Celine Dion. She's been shut out now for a decade, and many still feel she'll be shut out again this year, but this year they've asked her to sing at the "nomination ceremony."
I can't see them asking her to sing at the nominations and her camp agreeing to do so without expecting a long overdue nomination.
