Why do you guys think rihanna has no shot. Have we forgot about the success of her singles and not to mention "Take A Bow" just topped the charts. IMO she will win female R&B hands down. A lot of you said that she would not win the AMA for female R&B (because she is not R&B) but she still did. Also BET will award her for the lack of nominations they gave her this year.
Also Jordin will win Viewers Choice for "No Ar".

I really think Lil' Wayne is under-estimated in Hip-Hop Male, which I feel is one of the strongest its been in a while. Love the caetegory.
The best categories this year are.....VOTY, Female R&B, and Hip-Hop Male. Hands down.
I think R&B Female will go to Keyshia and Lil' Wayne will get Hip-Hop Male.
I really think the fresh faces will dominate. Like.... Lil' Wayne, who pretty much is considered the second coming of Jay-Z. Lil' Mama, the second coming of Eve/Missy. Chris Brown, second coming of Usher. (Though thsi category is very easy to predict) and Keyshia, second coming of Mary J.
It will be a night of upsets IMHO. VOTY will go to Alicia, for not giving her the R&B Female win.
FYC: The Dark Knight in every possible category! haha

Also, I think BET tends to go for artists they respect over artists who are hot at the moment.
Just out of curiosity, where else was there to nominate Mariah? She received the one nomination and she deserved it.
The "Touch My Body" video is nothing to write home about, so the fact that she didn't get a VOTY nomination is understandable. She doesn't have a collaboration out that's been a huge hit, and we know BET doesn't nominate album tracks, so you shouldn't have expected a nomination there.
The one nomination that Mariah did get is the one that I think most expected her to get. And she deserved it.

No one has forgotten about Rihanna's success on the singles charts. However, Rihanna is a pop singer, and this isn't the AMAs. If you even take a look at past AMA winners, then you'll see that it's obviously easy for pop artists to win the R&B categories and vice-versa. But this is BET we're talking about. They reward R&B, Gospel, and Hip-Hop. They're not rewarding pop.
Rihanna is also the ONLY first-time nominee in this category. She's not gonna win over Alicia Keys, whose album was released months after Rihanna's but still managed to sell a heck of a lot more, faster; also, Alicia has won this category previously. She won't win over Mary J. Blige, this category's very first winner; also, Mary has won twice. She won't win over Keyshia Cole. Need I remind you that Keyshia has dominated R&B radio more than any other female artist within the past year and she has a show on the network in question. Then there's Mariah. She's a legend and previous nominee, and could pull off a Prince-style win (he won R&B Male a couple years back) because they do like to reward veterans sometimes who haven't won.
Believe me when I tell you that Rihanna has no shot. If the snubbing of "Umbrella" was any indication (and it was), then she won't win. "Take A Bow" just topped the pop charts and is nowhere to be found on the R&B charts. It also receives little attention on BET, so just because she's #1 on the pop charts doesn't mean she'll win the BET award, because she won't.

Mr.Talented is right.Rihanna wont win this award. She wont win over Mary or Mariah and certainly not Keyshia or Alicia. All these women have either won or been nominated in this category before. The only other award Rihanna has been nominated for is Best New Artist in 2006.Besides some of her songs may be a little too Pop for her to get a win.Im suprised she didnt get into VOTY or Best Collaboration, and the fact that BET snubber her there should tell you that she's not gonna win. Here are the chances of each nominee:
1.Alicia Keys 2.Keyshia Cole 3.Mariah Carey 4.Mary J. Blige 5.Rihanna
Rihanna comes in 5th place.I would LOVE for Keyshia to take home this award.I love A.Keys but she already has numerous awards and I think Keyshia had a better year as far as Singles go. I could be wrong but she has been the most successful Female R+B Singles Artist of the past year,so she should really take home the award.I wouldnt mind if Alicia won but Keyshia deserves it more,IMO!
well it seems to be the category to beat But I doubt that BET can look pass the success of Rihanna within the past year. People say its because she is not R&B but at almost every award show Rihanna is nominated for an R&B award. There has to be some R&B there lol.
At the Grammys They submitted her mostley in the pop fields but she still ended up Getting nods for R&B song and Duo and No pop nominations.
Ama Femal R&B/Soul.
And now "BET Awards" Female R&B artist.
So she does have respect in the R&B "world" and I think she will win.

Perhaps my predicting nominees was not 100% accurate (how many are?), but I still say that Ashanti's chances at VOTY are non-existent. It's one of the things I'm most sure about, just like I'm sure Rihanna has no shot at winning Female R&B Artist.
Two disposable artists, with one nomination...and they're both going to lose that one nomination.

Your right they are gonna both lose, but the nomination is the reward for them.Im sure they arent losing sleep over not winning a damn BET Award when they both have a Grammy!

How is it "very true?" Tell me where I can find the rule that says my predictions have to be 100% accurate.

It's true because that's what you said.No one said you had to predict every category correctly but you said that Ashanti wouldnt get nominated and you were wrong.Hollywoodstar was just acknowledging the fact that I was right and you were wrong. That's all
