Yeah neither will win,but the jokes on you because you said Ashanti wouldnt get nominated for anything and she did!
Thats very true, actually.
How is it "very true?" Tell me where I can find the rule that says my predictions have to be 100% accurate.
It's true because that's what you said.No one said you had to predict every category correctly but you said that Ashanti wouldnt get nominated and you were wrong.Hollywoodstar was just acknowledging the fact that I was right and you were wrong. That's all
Thank you for that clarification but I still don't see what the big deal is. Was it that substantial that co-signing was necessary?
Anyways, perhaps I'm in the minority here but I'd love to see Will & Jada host again. I prefer them over Mo'nique, who I found to be forced and just all over the place.

Um...they can easily look past her success. If they looked past "Umbrella," what makes you think they won't look past her in this category?
You say that as if Rihanna is the single most successful of the nominees in her category during the past year. No female artist has dominated R&B radio and the R&B charts like Keyshia Cole has within the past year; she's put 4 singles in the top 10, including 2 #1s. Alicia Keys drove two singles to #1 on the R&B charts and spent 17 consecutive weeks at the top (10 for "No One" & 7 for "Like You'll Never See Me Again"). And, her album has sold 3 million copies. Rihanna hasn't even mustered up 2 million copies and her album has been out since July; Alicia's came out in November. They're both on album #3.
Then, there's a veteran by the name of Mariah Carey. She only has one nomination too, yet she has such a big shot at winning, while Rihanna doesn't. Mariah is the most popular female artist of the moment...period. That's regardless of genre, so she could win. And of course, Mary has BET's respect enough to win it, which would make her this category's biggest winner if she won this year (it would be her third).
Rihanna is a first-time nominee. Her only other nomination was for Best New Artist and she lost that. She's not winning.

What do you think of the host choice Mr. Talented.
Also here are confirmed performers.
Alicia Chris Brown Nelly LIl Wayne Usher/Beyonce/Lil wayne(opening) Ashanti Kanye Mariah Mary j Blige
A great list so far. I think Rihanna should've been added. Damn BET hates Rihanna! lol That being said, the opening should be good. But....hot damn, Beyonce ALWAYS attends every award show every freakin' year. EVERY YEAR! Whether it be the BET Awards, VMAs, or Grammy's. She's not even nominated this year. I guess I understand why she'd show up if she's nominated or promoting an album, but this year is not really necessary.
FYC: The Dark Knight in every possible category! haha

AGREED
They shoulda picked Conan O' Brian. He made a joke about it a while back saying he was going to host the BET Awards. It was funny.
I disagree. Conan O'Brien is no pick for a BET Awards host and many viewers would be left baffled by such a decision. Also, to me, that would ruin the entire purpose of the BET Awards when there are plenty worthy people to choose from within the black entertainment community that are more than capable of hosting the show. And who could do it better than O'Brien. I doubt any hosting stint on BET by O'Brien could even touch what Mo'Nique did the first time.

LOL!
It just wouldn't feel like a BET Awards show if Beyonce didn't perform. She's actually performed more times than any other artist. This year will make her 6th performance...out of 8 shows. That's remarkable. Haha

D.L. Hughley hasn't been funny in nearly 7 years, so I'm a bit concerned as to how audiences will connect with him. Hopefully I'm wrong and more people will begin to like him again. I hope that he does a good job, but I'm just not sure if he was the absolute BEST choice BET could've come up with.
I think that Tyler Perry would've been an excellent first-time host. I also think that a Shawn/Marlon Wayans hosting duo would've been killer. There were quite a few better ways to go than Hughley, but not a shock nonetheless since they like getting a King/Queen of Comedy to do the hosting (with the exceptions of Damon and Will/Jada).
As long as they don't EVER hire Damon Wayans to do it again, then I'm fine. He was the worst host in the show's history.
I agree abotu Damon Wayans being a HORRIBLE host and D.L.Hughley will be no exception.
I think that Katt Williams would be a great host for the BET Awards. He already hosted the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2 times in a row and was HILARIOUS!Will and Jada were funny back in 2005 so I wouldnt mind if they hosted again.
As for Beyonce,I agree with Mr.Talented.It wouldnt feel like a BET Awards show if Beyonce wasnt there. She usually gives the best performance of the night. This being her 6th time can only mean that she is gonna shut it down with Usher.Maybe she will sit out next year but you never know!

She's also headling some festival in Barbados in October, so her single should be out by that time (And she's probably gonna go to Next Years BET's), Alicia Is also going to that festival.
I really like the list of perfomers, better than the Grammys, Usually the AMA's, the BET'S and the VMA's have the best performers and most of the time the Grammys and VMA's and AMA's mess up their nominations.

I agree. Oh and the O' Brian thing was kinda a joke. But wouldn't it be funny?! Anyway, I think a good host would've been, I don't know, Tyler Perry is good actually. D.L. might not be THAT bad. He's pretty funny. We'll see I guess. He's hosted quite a few things before. As for Beyonce, I personally don't mind if she performs, cuz' she usually gives amazing performances at every award show she attends, so she can perform every year if she'd like. But I just find it funny how she is involved with a lot of the award shows year in, year out. Thats all.
EDIT: I just saw Classof2006 comment about Kat Williams. Now THAT would be a GREAT host. Perfect host right there. That or Dave Chappelle.

Oh yeah, O'Brien is one of my favorite comedians! I just don't think that he would be a suitable host for the BET Awards. And sorry for missing that joke. LOL
Katt Williams is funny but there's just something about him that I don't like. I don't know what it is.

Their shows have been A LOT better than the recent shows put on by the MTV VMAs. And to me they've been more consistently entertaining than the Grammy Awards. The Grammys offer just as many bright moments as they do dull each year.
BET always has something up its sleeve for the show. Just when I think they can't, they turn around and do it, just like last year when they got Jennifer Holliday to perform with Jennifer Hudson.
