I'm thinking of what scenarios would be the worst for us Goldderby posters come Grammy nomination day.

My worst nightmares will be:

* Eminem nominated in the General Field.

* U2 nominated in Album, Record and Song of the Year.

What would be yours?

This thread is only about the nominations. After the actual nomination list is announced, I'll post a similar thread about the Grammy ceremony.

If "Album of the Year" includes Eminem, U2 and Whitney Houston over more deserving rap, rock and r&b albums.

In my opinion, any general field nominations for Whitney Houston are unwarranted. For the record, I think it's a perfectly fine album and her voice is not as wrecked as many would have thought, but I think any nominations in these categories will simply be because of a Clive Davis-supported/Comback machine, which is a shame for other artists.

Additionally, while I may be surprised come Grammy night, Maxwell will get the short end of said stick when Whitney wins for the R&B Album category over his phenomenal effort.

Veteran acts dominating the General Field

I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

Mattadamsdietmanager, no poster is allowed to hijack the thread. You can simply express your disagreement with the poster who has an different opinion from yours, or simply disregard the thread in its entirety.

I will not tolerate personal attacks in this thread.

This thread is kind about the "hateration", but I gotta agree and say that my worst nightmare would be if U2 was in all 3 general field categories (I might could live with just 1, but even that might make me a little sick) and if Eminem somehow got in to the general field at all (which I doubt will happen).

I think Whitney might be deserving of an AOTY nomination, but just not at the expense of Maxwell. Hopefully both can get in.

Not to start any hateration for Beyonce, but if her album ended up in AOTY (which no one is predicting and could very well happen given that she's released 5,000 singles from it), I would not approve. As of now, I only predict her for SOTY for "Single Ladies" (since not eligible in ROTY with that one).

Also, I feel like we have enough great music this year to fill the general field, that we don't need filler oldie nominees. Please NARAS!!! No "classic" artists nominated in the General Field unless they've A) Had a hit single or B) A hit album. That would tick me off (as it does every year!).

Normally weird nominees in Best New Artist would be a nightmare, but I think this year they might have to given the lack of potential candidates. I hope either MGMT or Owl City can get in though (which BTW...I didn't know Owl City was a solo male performer...sounded like a band's name).

For Your Grammy Consideration:
Kanye West for "Heartless" and 808's & Heartbreak
Adele for "Hometown Glory"
Taylor Swift for "You Belong With Me" & Fearless
Maxwell for "Pretty Wings" & BLACKsummer'snight
Kings of Leon for "Use Somebody"
The Cast of GLEE for "Don't Stop Believin' "
Mariah Carey for "Obsessed"

Only two of your nightmares seem true, Guc!

Keri Hilson for BNA and maybe Beyonce for SOTY. Red Face

Britney in the general field, or pop vocal performance.

Beyonce in the general field. "Single Ladies" warrants ROTY though but it wasn't sent. Also, she does not deserve any songwriting nominations because she is not a songwriter.

U2 in AOTY or ROTY.

Kanye West in AOTY. Sorry his album is overrated and I don't care what anyone says, he is not "due" for anything.

Eminem in the general field. He is over.

Lady Gaga showing up in the GF b/c I previously predicted she wouldn't show up there (it would suck to have to eat my words).

U2, Eminem...agreed. Add Kanye West for me.

I don't mind if BEP gets a nom for ROTY for "I Gotta Feeling" but if "Boom Boom Pow" shows up anywhere in the GF, or their album shows up in AOTY, I will vomit.

That's enough hating from my side for the day lol.

Eminem won't get ANY General field nominations. That's one nightmare that won't come true. He will only win Best Rap Album and that's it.

Her album was submitted to Best R&B Album. Yes, truly a nightmare.

I don't think Vanessa would have gotten nominated in Jazz anyway LOL!

I would say U2 winning any big awards would be a nightmare.
