I love "Superwoman." I'm glad she's releasing one of the Linda Perry tracks. I was hoping this would be a single since I've first heard it. Though, I doubt "Superwoman" will be a big hit.
Too bad "Teenage Love Affair" didn't catch on. It wasn't a bad song, just not radio friendly. Alicia would've been better off releasing "I Need You" instead.
Weak choice for a 4th single (and they are calling it quits after 4? Weird). Won't have much impact on the charts. Granted, the album has already sold a ton so it doesn't really matter.
They shouldn't have waited so long after "Like You'll Never See Me Again".

This album, though it has done VERY well, could have done even better. It seems like they stumbled after the success of "No One." I think "Like You'll Never See Me Again" did okay, but she has some GEMS on this album. I'm shocked that 4 singles in (provided she does release "Superwoman") that "Wreckless Love" has not been a single. That's a beauty of a track and I'd imagine it being a hot single. I don't particularly like "Superwoman" or "Teenage Love Affair." I think those are two of the weaker songs on the album. If it were up to me, I would have went: 1. "No One", 2. "Wreckless Love", 3. "Like You'll Never See Me Again", 4. "I Need You"/"Where Do We Go From Here."
And is "Superwoman" REALLY the last single??

I am disgusted. "Superwoman" is a poor, poor choice for a single. And who said "Superwoman" is the final single?
Now I know "Superwoman" is a fan favorite and I know Alicia's piano driven ballads end up being her biggest hits, but there are a string of gems on this album ("Wreckless Love," "I Need You," "Lesson Learned," "Where Do We Go From Here") that are much more deserving of single treatment.
But I do know that Alicia said she doesn't want to wait too long between this album and her next album so I'd understand if this was the last single (though I hope it isn't). This album has been such a big hit and it hasn't even run its course yet. Alicia is an awards show fixture so once the BET Awards, VMAs, AMAs, Grammys hit and she starts performing/winning, this album will probably end up selling a little over four million in the U.S.
"Lesson Learned" should have been the next single. Meh.

I think "Like You'll Never See Me Again" was released very well. It was released right on the heels of "No One" and wrote that wave, but then it slowly gained airplay on pop radio and had an extremely long hold.
They were right to release an upbeat song for single #3, but they waited too long and released the wrong one. "Wreckless Love" is a crazy cool track. And yeah, "Superwoman"? Come on. A solid track, but nothing special. It's an album track on a great album. Not a single.

I'm not all that crazy about "Lesson Learned." However, that would be a smart single choice. The star power of Alicia Keys & John Mayer could be a hit. Plus, it's very Grammy friendly.
I like "Superwoman" and I don't see anything wrong with stopping after 4 singles. Of all three of her albums, the singles from this one have fared the worst on the pop charts.

Couldn't it be nominated anyways? Don't they sometimes do that with tracks?

Yeah, it could and probably will be nominated. Most likely in Pop Collaboration With Vocals.

Yes. All the time.

"Superwoman" and "The Thing About Love" are hella boring. "Lesson Learned" has a nice melody.

So do the other songs you mentioned. Having a nice melody does not prevent a song from being boring. Exhibit A: most Norah Jones songs. Nice melodies that are GREAT for putting yo ass to sleep.

LOL, F4J!
I swear you remind me of one of my old girlfriends. She disagreed with me just for the hell of it. Of course the disagreements always resulted in foreplay and then someone would get spanked with a leather strap and...
Ok let me stop tainting this precious Alicia thread with this filth.
But on a similar note, does anyone else think Alicia is probably the domineering type in the bedroom?

She probably is. I wouldn't be surprised is she had gags, whips, chains, hot oil, honey, a hat full of safewords, and everything from the sex store in her bedroom.
