"Superwoman" and "The Thing About Love" are hella boring. "Lesson Learned" has a nice melody.
So do the other songs you mentioned. Having a nice melody does not prevent a song from being boring. Exhibit A: most Norah Jones songs. Nice melodies that are GREAT for putting yo ass to sleep.
LOL, F4J!
I swear you remind me of one of my old girlfriends. She disagreed with me just for the hell of it. Of course the disagreements always resulted in foreplay and then someone would get spanked with a leather strap and...
Ok let me stop tainting this precious Alicia thread with this filth.
But on a similar note, does anyone else think Alicia is probably the domineering type in the bedroom?
WOW Double D!I never knew you had it in you.LOL Im sure Alicia is a freak in the bed.Ask Usher. He probably hit that when they filmed "My Boo"!

Yeah it's a pretty well known fact that Usher and Alicia smashed during that "My Boo" era. And there's a rumor that Alicia and John Mayer have also smashed.
Last year, John Legend said that he DIDN'T smash Alicia when they went on tour together a few years back.

Hell the WHOLE entire industry probably sleeps together.LOL Im sure when Justin and Christina were on tour a few years ago that he hit it a few times.

Actually that's pretty well known fact as well. When Christina was asked about it she said, "Justin is like my brother! I would never!"
Last year right before Joss Stone released her album, Dallas Austin called out Joss, Christina and other singers in the industry who are/were "f*cking" for tracks.

Really? I didnt know all this.Guess it shows you that you never really know what goes on behind closed doors in the Entertainment Industry!
I personally disagree with the singles choices after "Like You'll Never See Me Again." I think she hit the mark spot-on when she released the first two singles. "Teenage Love Affair" is doing well on the R&B charts, but I don't see how that made it to radio over "Wreckless Love," "I Need You," or "Where Do We Go From Here."
In fact, two of those 3 should've become singles, with "Wreckless Love" being an automatic shoo-in for one of the spots.
I don't care for "Lesson Learned." I think it's a very dull song, which is very disappointing considering that Mayer and Keys are two of my favorite artists. However, I wouldn't mind seeing them win that Pop Collaboration Grammy for it just because I'm such a big fan of both of them (but that's only contingent upon "No Air" being submitted in R&B).
Wherever "No Air" is submitted, I'll be rooting for it.
I don't know; maybe it's too quick to dismiss "Teenage Love Affair." It's steadily growing at both pop and R&B radio. And if Alicia performs TLA at the BET Awards tomorrow night, that'll help even more.

Really?
Last week TLA was up 66-54 on the Hot 100 and climbed in the Top 10 on the R&B charts. Pop stations are adding it to their play lists as well. I don't think this single is done by a long shot. It's a slow burner.
I think everyone is just so accustomed to instant hits these days (e.g. Rihanna) that sometimes we forget that it used to take singles awhile before they exploded.
I saw Alicia Keys in concert July 1st, 2008. She was wonderful, Clawton. She is very beautiful in person, I was about 15 rows back. She had on a very black skin tight outfit. Looked like the jeans were just painted on her hips LOL. One thing I must note her vocals were really on point. She can be criticized about that but she hit every note beautifully. She also sways and moves across the stage very nice. She performed about twenty songs opening with Go Ahead and the finale if I Ain't Got You dedicated to her fans.
Songs she performed not in order: Go Ahead, Teenage Love Affair, Where Do We Go From Here, Superwoman, How Come You Don't Call Me, Wreckless Love, No One, Like You'll Never See Me Again, Karma, Unbreakable, Never Felt This Way, Goodbye, Tender Love, Woman's Worth, Fallin', Diary, You Don't Know My Name, I Need You, Sure Looks Good To Me, Heartburn, If I Ain't Got You
The biggest crowd pops were Superwoman, How Come You Don't Call Me, No One, Tender Love rendition with one of the backup singers, and Woman's Worth.
Surprisingly she did not sing Butterflyz or Lesson Learned. She sung Never Felt This Way then Goodbye. lol.
Had a great time. Definetely not my favorite concert ever, but I'd give her 4 stars.
