"Melt" is a nice song. Seems sort of plain for a first single, but for what it is, it's a nice song. Toni has such a rich tone, I love hearing her sing. I'm looking forward to her album.
Does anyone know the release date?

^I heard April 2009. I think she's releasing 2 singles before the album.
This isn't gonna be a big hit for her, but it's a solid song that should do well on Urban AC and recapture her old audience. I like that she's singing more than mumbling and isn't trying to sound sexy or hip. Toni Braxton tried to keep up with the hip hop trend but failed miserably at it. I'm so happy that she's going back to her roots with real singing.
"Melt" is probably the type of music Toni Braxton should be singing. That whole "I want to be young, hip and sexy" thing just wasn't working for her. In the end it cost her album sales and fans. This song has to grow on me. So far it's solid.
Her other single is called "Get Loose" produced by Rodney Jerkins. I can't wait to hear that as well. I love me some Toni!! 2009 will be great with Toni and Whitney coming back.

i'll listen to these songs later, i just hope Toni's new album contains more ballads (which she's always been good at) because her voice is one that demands to be belted... i hope she works with Darkchild and Rodney Jerkins because she always did good songs with them. I want her sound to reflect more of her early work sort of like "Secrets"...
i just hope this album can be a big seller for her, i'd love to see her get her album get sales similar to that of "The Heat" (cause lets' face it she can't sell as much as she did with "Secrets")

I am stunned, "Melt" is the best Toni Braxton record in a very long time. definetly the best song to come out since "The Heat" days...
This is the type of music she always should have been singing instead of trying to go after the hip-hop crowd. This song is leagues ahead of anything on "More Than A Women" or "Libra"... way to go TONI!

I prefer "Melt" over "Get Loose." The good thing is, Toni Braxton sounds good. The bad thing is, "Get Loose" stinks. Toni is going to have to come stronger than this if she wants to have a career.
I think "Get Loose" will grow on a lot of people. It's a pretty catchy song if you let it sit with you for a bit -- sort of like "Spotlight" which many said was weak and then later said it was hot (including myself). Second listen doesn't sound half as bad as the first listen. It's a positive, upbeat song. Not much to hate though it's not a great song; it's certainly not bad.
