Show of Peace 2010 is a 365 day peace awareness campaign that will use the universal language of music, new media and globally televised events to spotlight the need for global peace and harmony. To truly make this a better world thru peace, our campaign will also look to highlight other growing concerns such as a cleaner environment, the need for water in certain regions, better education programs, cures for health conditions and aid to poverty stricken areas.
PEACE = NO WAR + ENVIRONMENT + WATER + FOOD + HEALTH + EDUCATION
History of Show of Peace
Rick Garson started his peace quest in the year 2000 when he had the opportunity to work with Pope John Paul ll. After his experiences, he was inspired to create a Peace Concert at the Vatican. When Pope John Paul ll died, Pope Benedict XVl wanted to give Rick the opportunity to host the concert but there were many logistical hurdles and Rick was forced to move the idea elsewhere.
In the year 2006, Rick was introduced to a newly discovered platform and focal point for a message of peace in the United Nations International Day of Peace. After trying to help the UN promote its best kept secret with an International Peace Day Concert on the grounds of the UN in Geneva, Switzerland, the project was brought to a halt due to war breaking out in Lebanon.
Now in 2008 after traveling all over the world, Rick’s journey has brought him to Beijing, China where he has now built a team and model to deliver one of the most positive and dynamic messages the world has ever seen.

Press Conference
To announce the Show of Peace 2010 campaign we will hold a large scale press conference in Beijing, China. We will feature world leaders, government officials, UN representatives, UN non-governmental organization representatives, world religion leaders, celebrities and musical artists. The program will include speeches by those above, video messages from the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and Pope Benedict XVl and finally special performances by world renown musical artists. Also in attendance will be China’s Director of Foreign Affairs from the Ministry of Culture, as well as Li Xiaolin, Vice-president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
This press conference and entertainment event will launch a one-year campaign as one of three key productions. Besides other supporting events over the next 365 days we will hold two major live events – the Global Harmony concert on April 17th and the Show of Peace concert on September 21st.
Through the use of a consistent message and theme, as well as solid activation ideas, this campaign will help define this new generation of activism; like “LiveAid” defined the activism of its generation. Maximizing the benefits of new and emerging social media networks – a Twitter ‘Tweet4Peace’ program, Facebook groups, iGoogle, etc – we will merge substance with style when we add the best of the best in musicians, performers and guest speakers.

Blender Magazine on Kelly Clarkson: " The Texas native has one of the great voices in pop music, a powerful and versatile instrument that’s steeped in the rhythm and blues and country music she grew up with in the South. If Mariah Carey’s five-octave voice is the equivalent of an expensively bred poodle, then Clarkson’s is a bloodhound: friendly, earthy, but fierce just the same."
Baltimore Examiner (concert review): "Her sultry voice is absolutely flawless. The tone and range floors you. When she belts out a note, it's precise yet powerful."
"Music is powerful, it's a drug that makes your inhibitions go away and leaves your vulnerabilities exposed" - KC
I sort of hate these things. Does any good actually come out of these other than cool concerts for fans of these artists? It's like people care for the week surrounding then event, then they go back to their normal lives and forget everything.
