My Barbra has done this Jazz Album. Plain and Simply, because her voice is going. I did see her In London 2 years ago,her voice was so so thin. Miss Streisands voice like Whitney's, has got a lot deeper, hence a Jazz Album.

Actually, its the same set of songs done with both a jazz combo and an orchestra. It's also the same type of music she's been doing for her entire career, so I'm really not sure what any changes to her voice has to do with anything.

Bab's voice is perfectly fine. She has taken very good care of it. Maybe her voice was tired that night after doing endless numbers of shows? perhaps she hadn't gotten enough sleep the night before? all i know is Bab's voice is beautiful.

I can't wait for the albums release on Sept 29, 2009 sorry Mariah even thought i love you both and you have releases the same day. I plan to purchase both.
I am fan of both Barbra Streisand and Mariah Carey but really enjoy Streisand’s cd because she is offering songs in the Quartet Version in the deluxe version instead of just on entire cd of remixes in Carey's cd. I do plan to also purchase Mariah’s cd eventually I really did not like the song "Obsessed" and can't understand why he Chicago Tribune gave it 3 stars. I will give it a 1.5 at best because I did like the last song “I want to know what love is" the next cd added is a total waste, its all remixes of "Obsessed'!

Sorry, but Barbra's voice is not like Whitney's, she still has pretty much the same voice she had, even now in her late 60's. Whitney's is huskier due to all her drug use, while Babs still sounds pristine.
Blender Magazine on Kelly Clarkson: " The Texas native has one of the great voices in pop music, a powerful and versatile instrument that’s steeped in the rhythm and blues and country music she grew up with in the South. If Mariah Carey’s five-octave voice is the equivalent of an expensively bred poodle, then Clarkson’s is a bloodhound: friendly, earthy, but fierce just the same."
Baltimore Examiner (concert review): "Her sultry voice is absolutely flawless. The tone and range floors you. When she belts out a note, it's precise yet powerful."
"Music is powerful, it's a drug that makes your inhibitions go away and leaves your vulnerabilities exposed" - KC

Barbra Streisand proved her prominence once again this week by beating the sales of Mariah Carey, despite having nearly three decades on her competition.
The 67-year-old Streisand bagged the No. 1 spot on the latest Billboard Top 200 Album chart with sales of 180,415 while Carey, 39, landed at No. 3 with her new "Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel" (based on 167,912 purchases).
The emo band Paramore snuck in between the broads with their "Brand New Eyes." It opened at 2, with sales of 175,112.
Streisand's album, "Love Is the Answer," represents her eighth No. 1 disc, and makes her the first artist ever to score No. 1 albums in 5 decades. Her top Billboard scores date back to 1964, when Babs landed her first with the "People" album.
"Love" has gotten special attention since it returns Streisand to the style of saloon songs she specialized in back at the start of her career.
This latest achievement also ties Streisand with The Beatles, in third place, for top 10 album first week sales. (Sinatra has the top spot on that scale, while the Stones rate at second).
One other diva made her debut on the charts this week: Madonna, with her new singles collection "Celebration." It entered at No. 7 with sales
