Although the album may be pushed back (again), I think we can add Maxwell's album to Male RnB

Happy to see "Say you will" placed in Alternative, taht is a nice song. But i wonder will Kanye submit to Pop like he did love lockdown. It would be foolish since it would NEVER get into pop male (not to say it isnt deserving), but if Love Lockdown cant get in, the Say You Will has no chance.

I hope Deb Cox submits herself in Traditional R&B Performance instead of Female R&B Vocal. The likelihood of the academy making up for snubbing her years ago is slim to none but she has a better shot in Traditional than Female R&B Vocal.

I agree with everything except the last part.

Mary would've and should've won anyway had she gone Contemporary.

I think we need to seriously watch Chrisette Michele, though. She has this sudden buzz. She just got her first #1 album, her first Hot 100 entry, etc. A win or two might be likely.

I think Chrisette Michele is a safe bet to garner a few nominations. However, if she wants to win, then her and her label will need to keep up some sort of promotion for her to win R&B Female, R&B Album, R&B Song, etc.

Since Chrisette Michele landed a #1 album, I wonder if Def Jam will put forth the effort to release more material from this album. They really should. With Rihanna currently out of the music spotlight, they should put forth some promotion for this chick. Her album is good and she's one of the few talented chicks out here, period! I think it's time to reward someone like her within the R&B field besides Urban/Alternative and Traditional R&B.

They won't.

Its a wasted energy to mention them. They would be forgotten by next week.

K'Jon's "On the Ocean" reminds me a lot of Noel Gourdin's "The River." It's a very nice track. I wasn't too fond of Noel Gourdin getting snubbed in Best Male R&B Vocal Performance last year, simply because "The River" was one of the best R&B tracks of the last year. However, K'Jon might have a chance. I've been hearing "On the Ocean" a lot lately.

I agree. Day26 won't be Grammy nominees.

Chrisette Michele won't win any Grammys unless NARAS throws her another bone in Best Urban/Alternative Performance or maybe in Best Traditional R&B Vocal Peformance. She'll have to get past Beyonce in Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Prince in Best R&B Album.

I agree about Day26. Their album is very good, but they won't be getting any nominations.

I wouldn't say that just yet. We saw what happened this year. J.Holiday,Trey Songz, and Karina had flop albums but they still got nominated!

J. Holiday had one of the biggest R&B hits of the year with "Bed"; it stayed at #1 on the R&B chart for five consecutive weeks. "Suffocate," its follow-up, peaked at #2.

"Can't Help But Wait" was a huge smash at R&B radio.

Karina got in for her debut. If Day26 couldn't get in for their debut (during a time when they had more buzz), then I severely doubt that they'll get in for this album. Even though the field is weak this year, they'll still have a hard time breaking into Contemporary R&B Album over Brandy, J. Holiday, Keyshia Cole and Beyonce -- who are ALL previous nominees in this category. Then there's T-Pain to worry about; if Akon could get nominated for his last album, then I don't see why it's unfathomable for T-Pain to make it in. After all, he is a Grammy Award-winner.

And let's not forget The-Dream and Keri Hilson. Both artists have a HUGE buzz going right now.

Day 26 can get into R&B/Duo Group if 'Your heels' IS A hit on the charts.

I seriously doubt T-Pain gets a nomination in Best Contemporary R&B Album. His first and second albums didn't. Akon's album was huge, being certified 3x Platinum. I'm not sure how much T-Pain sold thus far, but I don't think it's much. Plus, his album is long forgotten. I put him and Day26 in the same boat. T-Pain will probably have a better chance at landing a nomination or two through a collabo or something.
