"Can't Help But Wait" was a huge smash at R&B radio.
Karina got in for her debut. If Day26 couldn't get in for their debut (during a time when they had more buzz), then I severely doubt that they'll get in for this album. Even though the field is weak this year, they'll still have a hard time breaking into Contemporary R&B Album over Brandy, J. Holiday, Keyshia Cole and Beyonce -- who are ALL previous nominees in this category. Then there's T-Pain to worry about; if Akon could get nominated for his last album, then I don't see why it's unfathomable for T-Pain to make it in. After all, he is a Grammy Award-winner.
And let's not forget The-Dream and Keri Hilson. Both artists have a HUGE buzz going right now.
Wow your absolutley right Mr.Talented. Thanks for reminding me of al this!
Current Predictions Cont R&B album "Intuition" - Jamie Foxx "In A Perfect World" - Keri Hilson "LoveHate" - The Dream "Human" - Brandy "A Different Me" - Keyshia Cole
I really see this being the final line up.

I can imagine that being the lineup only if Beyonce submits pop. You can believe that if Beyonce submits to this category, one of those 5 isn't going to make it.
There's no way that Beyonce isn't going to make it in. She's won this category more than anyone else and has done better with this album than any of those 5 albums.

Never say never....I thought we all learned that with what happened with Alicia Keys last year. Remember how "As I Am" was suppose to be a lock to win Best R&B Album?? Alicia had also won Best R&B Album two times, and her sales FAR exceeded anything that ended up being nominated.

I agree. It's basically the same thing. Beyonce has a strong chance at getting if submitted, just like Alicia had a good chance when she was in contention. But no one's a sure bet. Things happen when it comes to the Grammys. Anything goes. I honestly think some of the albums we have under R&B Album will end up in Contemporary R&B. I think we will have some shocking snubs. IDK where, though.

The reason why I didnt put Beyonce there was because she really needs to submit to POP where it belongs. IF she submits to Cont R&B then the Dream is out.

Very good points from both of you. I don't know how I let that slip my mind so quickly.
I also agree with musicluva123. A lot of the albums listed under R&B Album are some that I could easily see going the other way. John Legend, Musiq, Chrisette Michele, and especially Jamie Foxx could I easily see going into the other category. Of course, there's a large possibility that Musiq and Legend will stay put; possible Michele too, but I'm 50/50 on that one. Foxx should just go contemporary. I don't see how that album could masquerade as anything else but that.
I still think Beyonce will submit and get nominated in Pop this time around. If "Single Ladies" is eligible than she will get into R+B Female and R+B Song. Here are the nominations I see her getting:
ROTY-Single Ladies SOTY-Halo Best Female Pop Vocal-Halo Best Pop Vocal Album-I Am......Sasha Fierce Best Female R+B Vocal-Single Ladies Best R+B Song-Single Ladies
A lot of these predictions are assuming that "Single Ladies" is eligible and wasn't submitted last year like the master list indicated. Do we know for sure yet?

No one knows for sure but if it is eligible it WILL get nominated. The song was too huge to ignore!
I think "Single Ladies" is only going to be eligible for ROTY. Mary Mary released "The Sound" after the Grammy eligibility period yet they still got nominated and won in February. Beyonce's label is probably going to stick a SL live performance download on itunes, if they haven't done so already.

Yea anything can happen. Even though, Alicia got snubbed. Her "As I Am" album still won 3 grammys from it's singles.
I kind of hope Single Ladies is not eligible. They tried to do tricky by placing it on last years entries list and rules are just rules. I hope it's only eligible for ROTY. Even if it's eligible, I personally wouldn't nominate it in Vocal. I guess that's my biase for an actual good vocal performance.
For some reason I feel the Dream will be snubbed altogether and I wouldn't mind it. I personally liked his singles better from his last album, which didn't get nominated. I like him far better as a producer than artist.

I wasn't too fond of Noel Gourdin getting snubbed in Best Male R&B Vocal Performance last year, simply because "The River" was one of the best R&B tracks of the last year. However, K'Jon might have a chance. I've been hearing "On the Ocean" a lot lately.
Yes, On the Ocean would be 2nd on my list for Best Male Vocal behind "Pretty Wings". I already know K'Jon won't get nominated like Noel. I thought "The River" was the best male vocal last year along with "Here I Stand" by Usher.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss K'Jon's chances, though. The NARAS loves nominating new and underrated artists as fillers a la Chrisette Michele, Jazmine Sullivan, Ledisi, Eartha, and Remy Shand. He might be right up the older NARAS members' alley.
Yea hopefully. I think the male who's been robbed the most the past few years is Robin Thicke. He certainly should have garnered at least one nomination for the past 2 albums. They were dumb by submitting the first one to pop. I think "Sweetest Love" should have some sort of consideration as well like the others.
