I'm not holding my breath. I can't imagine anyone but a selected few really caring to see those two on screen.
I'd rather she focus on the album as it does sound pretty cool.

I wouldn't say Christina put her "day job" on the backburner, I just think she wanted to explore something different. I'm glad she is taking her time with the new album.
Well I support Christina all the way and maybe it's the fan in me speaking, nut I'd rather hear new music from her rather than see her act.
And boy was it quite regretful she did not accept the role in Nine. Come on! She might not be nominated for awards per se but that was one hell of a breakthrough performance.
I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

She rejected a role in Nine?! Geez, that movie's got all kinds of talented actors in one place, i'm sure Christina could have held her own in the silver screen.
Rob Marshall wanted her before Kate Hudson, Sienna Miller and Anne Hathaway auditioned for the role, but Christina reject the offer because she already signed for star in BURLESQUE with Cher and because the recording sessions of the new album. Now Fergie is gonna have all that breakthrough performance attention for other role in the film.

Well I like Fergie so it's alright for me, but that is one offer I can't reject. On my first film there's six Oscar nominees directed by Oscar nominee Rob Marshall. And the fact that he personally had me in mind to play the role. Oh dear.
But I understand she's just being professional to not accept all the offers if she knows she does not have all the time in the world.

With all due respect, I don't see it as understandable that she turned down a role in a film being directed by an Oscar nominated director who's previous musical was the best musical in decades, where she could have starred with Oscar winning screen legends, in what is sure to be one of the biggest releases of the Oscar season.
For her to turn down that to star in her own vehicle with the guy who did the Girlicious tv series being his only major credit, I see that as some bad judgment. This isn't Eminem's 8 Mile, Diana Ross's Lady Sings The Blues, or even Courtney Love's People VS Larry Flint, where the directors were strong , the cast was exceptional, and the musicians had the ability to hone truly develop their acting skills with some really talented people. This sounds like a vanity project on the lines of Madonna's entire filmography (minus Evita, where again, the people she were working with where exceptional and the story had an audience already), Mariah Carey's glitter, or Britney's Crossroads.

It's understandable because Christina Aguilera had already signed on for Burlesque prior to being offered the role in Nine. Also, as stated, filming of Nine would interfere with the recording of her new album. I doubt she's looking to win an Oscar or anything.
With the Sleuth of music divas releasing new material this year, I wish or think it would behoove both Christina and this new album for her/her peoples to at least leak a little something something
That way her hat is in the game and people aside from the fans will be talking about it. Maybe do a song for a movie, she's got a futuristic album? maybe do a song for Cameron's Avatar
I don't know it just feels weird having nothing new from Christina even in between her past albums she's done guest spots to fuel the flames
