Since the first round has ended (some would say good, some would say bad) I've thought of something else for us to do. Since a lot of people maybe didn't agree with the top 10, why don't you post your own? I'm going to reprint TryAgain's list (if you don't like it, add more) and you all can come up with your own 10 most important/favorite/whatever. Explain why, don't explain why, whatever. Have fun.

1. M.I.A. I put her at #1 because she is probably the best thing to happen to music in the 2000's. Collectively, she is critically praised: her work is unique, groundbreaking, sonically spectacular, global, political, relevant and boundless. Back-to-back, she released one of the greatest 1-2 punches (in that of Arular and Kala) that I have ever heard. She's not a huge commercial success, but it's rare for an artist like her to both a Grammy and Oscar nominee. She's just the baddest bitch out there.
2. Missy Elliot Missy released smash album after smash album. She represented female emcees in the 2000's and took the sounds and production to another level. When she was on top, she was dominating!
3. Bjork When you have albums like Vespertine, Medulla, and Volta to your name in the 2000's, you deserve to be on this list. She is forever pushing her art and making spectacular music in the process.
4. Alicia Keys I find Alicia Keys a bit overrated musically, but commercially you cannot deny this woman's success and, at times, dominance. People adore her, and her sales and Grammy wins reflect that. She definitely should be on this list, especially for her rich debut, Songs in A Minor.
5. Nelly Furtado She is as diverse an artist you are going to get in the 2000's. She's on this list for her great albums (yes, all three of them) which showcase the range of musicality she possesses in various languages and styles. Loose was one of the most successful albums of the decade internationally, spawning some incredibly huge hits all around the world.
6. Beyonce She is probably this decade's Entertainer of the Year. She sings, she dances, she's hot - she has the package. Though her music is kind of hit or miss in terms of quality, when she hits, she hits big! Songs like "Crazy In Love", "Irreplaceable", and "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" were all anthems at some point during this decade.
7. Mariah Carey Her 2005 comeback with The Emancipation of Mimi was a phenomenon, spawning hit after hit (including one of the biggest hit of the decade in "We Belong Together") en route to becoming one of the best-selling albums of the decade and an undeniable classic. She followed up that success with Grammy wins, her fourth #1 hit of the decade, and another platinum selling album.
8. Rihanna She has steadily increased her resonance throughout this decade, and with Good Girl Gone Bad she solidified herself as a bonafide superstar. Say what you may about Rihanna and her talent, she has numerous #1 hits, a smash album, and the anthem of the decade in "Umbrella" - this song will probably be the most recognizable tune to come out of the 2000's.
9. Shakira She successfully crossed the boundaries between Latin and Contemporary Pop Music. Breaking into the U.S. market, especially as a foriegn-speaking artist, is not easy, and Shakira managed to spread her style and sounds and hips all around the world.
10. Pink Completely and utterly underrated. Check out her catalogue - the woman had a ton of hits! Not to mention she is very, very diverse in style and sounds. The fact that she has been able to be so consistently good throughout this decade secures her a spot on this list.
Alright here are my reasons for my Top 10 choices:
1.Beyonce- She's the Total Package and if anyone deserves to win Female Artist Of The Decade it's her. She has dominated this decade like no other artists and her songs always have some kind of cultural impact. (Esp "Irreplaceable" and "Single Ladies")
2.Alicia Keys- She's one of the most influential R+B Artists this decade. Her music catalog is very impressive and she's insanely talented. She can sing, write good songs and play the heck out of a Piano. Her artistry has been incredible and you can tell that she's on her way too legend status.
3.Christina Aguilera- She's arguably has the best voice in Pop Music today. This woman was born to sing. Her songs are good but when you hear her sing you always get chills.
4.Mary J. Blige- Like Alicia, Mary is one of the most influential artists this decade. She pours her heart and soul into her music and is an INCREDIBLE songwriter. She really knows how to put the emotion into a song.
5.Mariah Carey- What can I say about Mariah? She is probably has or had one of the best voices in music history and her transition from a Pop Artist into an R+B Artist was AMAZING! She's very versatile and can sing in ANY genre.
6.Pink- She's very underrated. Her voice is great and her catalog of music ****s on ALOT of artists out today.
7.Rihanna- I wasn't too fond of Rihanna when she first came out but she proved herself with hits like "SOS","Umbrella", "Unfaithful" and "Disturbia". The girl has proven that she can crank out the hits and I see her being very successful in the next decade.
8. Carrie Underwood- Carrie is very talented and she has shown Country Music that she is one of their best. It's no wonder why she won American Idol.
9.Britney Spears- She may not be the best singer but oh girl can dance her ass off. Her videos have probably been the most influential out of any artist this decade. She's like the Madonna of our Generation.
10.Ashanti- I dont care what none of yall say, Ashanti is the ****. Yes she's not on Top now but all that she has achieved this decade is enough to put her on my list. She's talented and like Beyonce,Mary, and Keyshia she writes songs that young women all across the globe can relate to. She told it like it is on "Foolish" "Rain On Me", and "The Way That I Love You". Her videos are also pretty killer. Ashanti really wasnt like any ordinary R+B Artist. When she debuted, the reception she recieved by the Hip-Hop Community reminded me of the way Mary J. Blige was recieved when she first came out. I'm not saying she's an heir to Mary, but she's on her way to be successful once again.
Without overexposure, Alicia has managed to sell quite great with her three studio albums. She put in the less work with promotion and etc., it seems she does so well.
02 P!nk
Her unique style and raw vocals are enough for #2 spot, enough said.
03 Beyonce
You can't run from this chick, while I may think her success isn't that impressive like her fans claim with the effort she put into it, she's deserving of some recognition, not too much though.
04 Miley Cyrus
Call me crazy, however, her success with the tween has been unstoppable.
05 Britney Spears
Before she went koo-koo, she owns the first beginning of the decade.
06 Christina Aguilera
Along with Ms. Spears, she dominated the first half of the decade (and with talent, YAY!)
07 Rihanna
Def Jam was determine to make this chick a star and after 5,000 singles, the attempt succeed. Four #1 in two or three years is very impressive.
08 Gwen Stefani
If anyone can get urban radio stations to play a track like "Hollaback Girl" then she has to be doing the damn thing.
09 Carrie Underwood
While not a country, her success with her first album was impressive. Still don't like her ass.
10 Mariah Carey
That music was on point back in 2005.

.... Even if you are a million miles away, I can still feel you in my bed, near me, touch me, feel me and even at the bottom of the sea, I can still hear you inside my head, telling me, touch me, feel me, and all the time you were telling me lies
