This is a shame. I just noticed that there aren't many Rap albums released in the past few months, at least not any notable ones.

I have no idea when Jay-Z is dropping his album. He probably won't release it until AFTER the eligibility period is up.

I don't know how this lineup will look. Ludacris might be able to land another Grammy nomination in Rap Album. Hopefully, Q-Tip's The Renaissance will land a nomination. That's a great album that deserves recognition.

Of course, Eminem will land another nomination. I have no idea where Kanye's non-Rap album will land. Lil Wayne better not get in for that Rock album. I already know it's going to be horrible. suicide And SMH @ Flo Rida possibly getting into Best Rap Album.

I gotta agree. Where are all my hip-hop artists??? For some reason everyone is M.I.A. (and I don't mean the artist responsible for "Paper Planes"). They've all gone and left Soulja Boy Tell'em to take over the charts! How could you do this to us????!!! haha.

Here are some other newer contenders to look at:

Rap/Sung Collaboration:
Day 26 featuring Yung Joc & Diddy - "Imma Put It On Her"
Maino featuring T-Pain - "All The Above"
Cassie featuring Diddy - "Must Be Love"
Jadakiss featuring Mary J. Blige - "Grind Hard"

Rap Duo or Group:
Kid Cudi featuring Kanye West & Common - "I Poke Her Face"
Busta Rhymes featuring Lil Wayne & Jadakiss - "Conglomerate"
At this point though, the winner WILL BE:
The Black Eyed Peas - "Boom Boom Pow"

Rap Solo Performance:
Yung Joc - "Where Da Hoes"
DJ Class - "I'm The Ish"
Gorilla Zoe - "Echo"
Pitbull - "Calle Ocho"
Asher Roth - "I Love College" (You never know!)
Eminem - "We Made You" (This better not happen!)

Rap Album
The Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D.

For Your Grammy Consideration:
Kanye West for "Heartless" and 808's & Heartbreak
Adele for "Hometown Glory"
Taylor Swift for "You Belong With Me" & Fearless
Maxwell for "Pretty Wings" & BLACKsummer'snight
Kings of Leon for "Use Somebody"
The Cast of GLEE for "Don't Stop Believin' "
Mariah Carey for "Obsessed"

Ugh, man. I hope BEP don't submit their work to Rap. I want Ludacris, Jay-Z and Nas to take Best Rap Group in a landslide. Who votes for them, anyways?

Black Eyed Peas and Eminem DONT deserve to get nominated so I hope NARAS doesn't give them anything. I would LOVE to see Day26 in Rap/Sung Collaboration though!

Me too! "Imma Put It On Her" is a hott song, plus it helps that they have Diddy featured on the song, b/c he's got a good track record with NARAS as far as wins go in the rap category, so hopefully they can at LEAST be nominated.

I also love the Lil Kim/Charlie Wilson/T-Pain collaboration "Download" and would love to see that nominated.

I agree that Eminem and Black Eyed Peas don't deserve nominations!!! BEP is okay to me, but I can't stand Eminem. Unfortunately, I think we'll be seeing both nominated and at this point, both have strong chances of winning in Rap Solo and Rap Duo/Group...not to mention Rap Album.

Yeah and if "Imma Put It On Her" reaches the Top 10 it will probably get nominated. I hope it does as it's a good record.

And yes unfortunatley The Black Eyed Peas and Eminem will get nominated! upchuck

Yes, it's eligible. It will probably be submitted for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

What other strong contenders do we have for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration?

Besides the Keri Hilson songs and the T.I. and JT collabo, I can't think of too many.

hopefully Day 26 will get in I freaking love that song!

I hope the BEP do get nominated for Rap Duo, Rap song and Rap album (If the album is any good) so far they are locks for all.

Also Asher Roth may go POP male Vocal.

I doubt Asher Roth goes Pop Male Vocal Performance. He'll end up in Rap somewhere.

BEP might submit their album for Pop.

Making The Band is their promotion. Accoriding to hits their set to debut at at least 100K next week!

Best Rap Solo Performance (thus far):
Kanye West - "Heartless"
Kid CuDi - "Day 'N Nite"
Flo Rida - "Right Round" (Am I the only one who sees this also going Best Dance Recording?)
Eminem - "We Made You" (Hopefully, he releases something worth nominated because this song is trash and doesn't deserve a nomination)
Asher Roth - "I Love College" (It's a hit at the moment, so who knows?)

...and Kanye easily takes home another Grammy. Where's the competition?!!!

roflmao

Well, "Day N Nite" is slowing becoming a huge hit in its own right, but I don't think Kanye would be too fond of his artist beating him. LOL
