I'm kinda torn if he will actually get a nomination or two. But know Def Jam's history they have been able to nab several nominations for their artist (Karina, Christina Milian, Joe Budden).

The thing with an artist like Jeremih is that it could go either way with him --- no nomination or at least one.
J. Holiday shocked us with a nomination just last year. Omarion received one too. I'm starting to think he will be one of the surprise nominees this year. Never underestimate some artists. Jeremih had a huge hit this year, so it's never too far fetched for him to land a nomination somewhere.
I think he has chance at landing a nomination in Male R&B and/or Best Contemporary R&B Album.

And if Jeremih doesn't get in or even if he does, I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Leslie takes his place or joins him.
See that's where I'm torn between Jeremih, Trey Songz & Ryan Leslie. One of the three or maybe two might have a good chance of getting in. I know that Trey is the "it" R&B guy now, Ryan Leslie has a lot of respect in the industry and Jeremih is on Def Jam and a successful first single.

I forgot about Trey. After last year, I don't think anyone is safe. Who would have thought J. Holiday, Karina, and to a lesser extent, Jazmine Sullivan would bump Mariah, Usher, Chris, Erykah and even Estelle out of slots? People thought for sure that those artists were the ones fighting for a spot.
Emily King bumped Ciara out of a nomination a couple of years back. It could go anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if The-Dream didn't make the lineup and Ryan Leslie, Jeremih and/or Trey Songz did.

I can't picture Jamie Foxx getting snubbed or getting less than two nominations. I see him getting into Best Contemporary R&B Album and Best R&B Group. I'm still iffy about The-Dream getting in, especially after he got snubbed the last time. Keri could get left out, but she looks like a standout this year. "Knock You Down" was HUGE and "Turnin Me On" was moderately successful. If she lands in Best New Artist, then she will most likely land three other nods (Best Rap/Sung, Best R&B Song, Best Contemporary R&B Album). I can't really think of any other spoilers from that 30-entry lists.

Yeah this category is pretty much a crapshoot lol. I can safely say that Beyonce will be nominated lol.

Beyonce probably has R&B Female and Contemporary R&B Album in the bag. Whitney will be a strong competitor for R&B Female, but Contemporary R&B Album is pretty much hers. The success of "Single Ladies" alone will propel her to a win in that category.
R&B Song is definitely a battle between two songs: "Pretty Wings" and "Single Ladies."
R&B Album is between two artists: Maxwell and Whitney Houston.
R&B Male is a done deal. Maxwell is taking it.
I think R&B Performance by a Duo or Group will be the most interesting category this year. They have the most interesting set of possible nominees, IMO, and depending on who's nominated, it may just be the race to watch in this field. Everything else is either locked up already or narrowed down.
Just being completely honest here. We know how the Grammys operate, and even though there are five nominees per category, the real race only involves 2-3 of the nominees, given that it's not a giveaway (like R&B Male is this year).

1) I don't know, man! I thought Beyonce had Female R&B wrapped up BEFORE Whitney released her singles. I think a lot of factors will be considered here (comeback + underrewarded + veteran) and in the end, Whitney will have the edge. In the other hand, Beyonce does have Cont. R&B in the bag.
2) Agreed.
3) Agreed.
4) More than agreed.
5) You're right. I had problems narrowing down that category, because there are so many good options for potential nominees. At one point, I had ten nominees.
6) But you generally get one category that is really competitive and where every nominee would make a deserving winner.

I know people on this board aren't too interested in this category (or Traditional R&B Vocal), but there you go.
I actually listened to most of the entries on this list and these were my favorites...
1. Day Keeper - The Foreign Exchange 2. Dirty Beauty - Sa-Ra Creative Partners & Erykah Badu 3. This Bird- Solange 4. Boom - Anjulie 5. Organic Soul - Carolyn Malachi 6. Pearls - India.Arie 7. Electric Love - Vikter Duplaix 8. Bedtime Story - Buju Banton
I couldn't find Liberation by Corneille, All Matter by Robert Glasper & Bilal, and a Tale of Two by Eric Roberson. Anyone heard these or got a link to them. I would say Foreign Exchange was my favorite and their album is very good too. I nommed them but I know it won't be lol.
