I suppose these guys might end up in the Rock Field; but The Fray's "You Found Me" is a nice little tune worthy of Best Pop Performance Duo or Group. It'll probably be forgotten come nomination time in about nine months, though.
FYC: "Up" for Best Picture and Kathryn Bigelow for Best Director

I'm surprised that many of you are picking a full-throttle top 40 line-up for the pop female/album catagories.
I don't see Britney getting in, not with any of the singles she's had at least. Kelly won't get in for "My life would Suck", so it remains to be seen if she'll make pop female, same goes for pop album. I won't judge until I hear it.
Leona Lewis Can't get in for any song off of Spirit, since the album was nominated this year. Am I right?
I do potentially see Pink getting in for Pop Album. And yes, you can register place for Christina, since she has an album coming out, no doubt.

Britney has been able to get into the pop fields quite easily, even for a song that wasn't even a hit (Overprotected). This time around she has the comeback label and hits to back her, so she should make it in the pop catagories.

I'm hoping Kelly can get a nomination. And what about Lady GaGa? nobody's mentioned her. Her cd came out after Sept. 30th didn't it? If so, I bet she'll get a nomination, she's got a kick a$$ cd.
Blender Magazine on Kelly Clarkson: " The Texas native has one of the great voices in pop music, a powerful and versatile instrument that’s steeped in the rhythm and blues and country music she grew up with in the South. If Mariah Carey’s five-octave voice is the equivalent of an expensively bred poodle, then Clarkson’s is a bloodhound: friendly, earthy, but fierce just the same."
Baltimore Examiner (concert review): "Her sultry voice is absolutely flawless. The tone and range floors you. When she belts out a note, it's precise yet powerful."

Her material will surely be submitted in the Dance field.

Oh yeah, you're probably right. Thanks DJWolff

The famous Japanese singer, Utada, is making some buzz in America with her new song, "Come Back to Me." I wonder if she will be a contender in the Pop field. Her song is one of the most added songs at Rhythmic radio. It would be great to see the NARAS embrace an artist from another country just like they embraced the UK camp.

Asian and Middle Eastern artists have a very hard time getting recognition from NARAS. I would even say that they get simply overlooked. As you said, I hope it changes in the near future.

Yea, but "Come Back to Me" looks like it will crossover. Plus, Utada is pretty popular outside of the US. I hope NARAS isn't that prejudice, though. They embraced the UK chicks. Some didn't crossover. I'll just wait and see. I won't count her out. Her song just started getting an acceptable amount of spins.
Can we add Jon McLaughlin as a contender for Pop Male and Pop Album, I know his chances are low but still, it'd be nice to see him nomed but that also seems like a low chance.

OK Now is awesome and the single "Beating My Heart" is amazing. I'd love for nothing more than this to happen, but yeah, in all honesty his chances are incredibly slim. If you don't have a giant hit or are a respected 'Grammy approvedTM' artist, Pop Male is tough.
Add Dido's Safe Trip Home as a possible nominee for Pop Album.
