I bought the album on Wednesday, and I think it's definitely one that's gonna take some time to grow on me. So far, "Bleeding Love" and "Forgive Me" are the only 2 tracks that I'm crazy about. The rest will take more listening.

The song has really grown on me to the point where I can't get it out of my head.
And the music video is really well-done.
I believe "Better In Time" is her official second single. I know on GMA they introduced the song as "her new hit song." No matter the outcome, this song is a real standout.
I bought the album this past weekend and it seemed a bit underwhelming with the first listen. But by the second listen and on, the album had really begun to lighten up and sound a bit better. It is nothing groundbreaking, but it is a strong showcase for her talent.

U.K. import Leona Lewis makes a huge splash at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, becoming the first British solo artist to debut in the U.S. chart's top slot, according to this morning's Nielsen SoundScan charts.
The singer, discovered on "The X Factor," Simon Cowell's British talent show, leads the list with opening-week sales of 205,000 copies. That gives Lewis' "Spirit" a commanding lead over last week's chart champ, George Strait's "Troubadour," which holds the runner-up spot with 59,000 sold.
Last year, Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" set a record for the highest bow by a British female's solo debut when it entered at No. 7, although that set had not been Winehouse's first British release.
Lewis becomes the first Brit solo act to lead The Billboard 200 since Rod Stewart's "Still The Same... Great Rock Classics Of Our Time" led the page in the Oct. 28, 2006 issue. Moreover, she becomes the first British female soloist to do so since Sade's "Promise" reached No. 1 in February 1986, a couple of months before Lewis' first birthday.
The release of "Spirit" stirs an 11% rise for Lewis' lead single, "Bleeding Love," which returns to No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs with 223,000 sold for the week (2-1). The song has sold 1.1 million copies since U.S. downloads became available in late December, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Yup!!!
She's going to have the #1 Album and #1 Single this week. Very impressive for a debut artist.

Cool. I'm glad it's her that's ascending to the top. It's easily the best pop song out right now.

Lewis, Juno faves shake up charts By JOHN WILLIAMS Senior Editor, JAM! Showbiz
Simon Cowell's latest discovery, U.K. sensation Leona Lewis, is starting to make big waves in North America.
The British pop singer's debut album, "Spirit," checked in at No. 1 on the Canadian charts, pushing nearly 20,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures.
It marks the first time an artist has entered in at No. 1 with a debut effort since Il Divo did it back in April of 2005.
The 23-year-old, whose big break came from winning Cowell's British talent show "The X-Factor," has been given a big push in these parts. She recently made an appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and had some favourable postings from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
This extra attention also led to top billing south of the border, with Lewis selling 205,000 copies of ""Spirit"" in the U.S.
Back here, Canadian artists got a big chart boost from their Juno appearances. Feist's "Reminder" moved up from No. 12 to No. 2, Michael Buble's "Call Me Irresponsible" shot up 20 notches to No. 7, Anne Murray's "Duets, Friends & Legends" went from No. 19 to No. 9, and the "Juno Awards 2008" compilation re-entered the top 10 at No. 10.
Elsewhere on the charts, the "Hanna Montana 2" soundtrack occupied the No. 3 slot, followed by the "Family Jams" compilation at No. 4, Jack Johnson's "Sleep Through the Static" at No. 5, Nine Inch Nails' "Ghosts I-IV" at No. 6, and the "Hanna Montana" soundtrack at No. 8.
