If anyone is interested, this is Jesse McCartney's version of "Bleeding Love" which is featured as a Bonus song in some international countries edition of his CD "Departure".
Jesse co-wrote this song with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic for his album. I'm not sure what the circumstances were but I guess the song was bought from him by Leona's people.
I bought it yesterday. I guess the possible nods are: - Song of the Year: Bleeding Love - Best New Artist - Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: Bleeding Love - Best Pop Vocal Album: Spirit

How could you forget Record of the Year for "Bleeding Love" as well?

My bad, torontophenom! I guess 'Bleeding Love' is, at this time, the frontrunner for Record of the Year. But there is a lot of singles to come. [Actually, I wouldn't vote for Leona, I'd vote for 'Please, read the letter' by Plant & Krauss.]

There's 4 months left in the eligibility period. I believe "Bleeding Love" has done enough to solidified its place in the field of 5 nominees for Record of the Year. This has to be one of the biggest singles of 2008.

she's talented but i wonder how much grammy love she'll get, remember she had four nominatiosn for the brit awards and walked away empty handed. a big voice is no guarantee of an award, though 'bleeding love' is a really catchy song and the woman can sing, we'll see next year, Duffy or Estelle could steal Leona's thunder, and don't bash me for saying it..that been said i hope they release 'better in time' soon because it's my favorite song on 'spirit.'

She lost those awards but wasn't she nominated? No one is saying she's going to win Record of the Year just yet. I'm saying her chances of receiving a nod in that category look pretty good now.

Actually 2 of those noms were decided by public vote and these are always decided by the ones with the biggest fan base. The single that beat Bleeding Love was a complete joke in comparison but it was a boy band so enough said.
The 2 categories decided by panel was a bit tough because the voting started just as her album was released and so no one new just how well she was going to do at the time.
Her label would have done better if they had delayed her nominations until next year, the validity period is 15 months.

The nominations for the Brits were announced after Leona's album had broken the record for biggest debut and her song had already been number one for seven weeks in the UK chart. As for Take That getting the Single of the year award, every artist had the same chance to win, in fact they said in the telecast Leona came in second just a few votes away from Take That..it feels like i'm against Leona now but i'm not just stating facts.Leona was wildly successful by the time those nominations came out, in fact the noms came out in mid January-i just checked-

Anybody who thinks Take That - Shine is a worthy Record of the Year over 2 massive worldwide hits in "Bleeding Love" and Mikas "Grace Kelly" clearly has clouded thinking.
The public votes goes for the boy bands every time. How Take that could also win best Live act against Muse is also just ridiculous. It is the teen girl/housewife votes that make these awards redundant.

i love how you focused on the Take That part but didn't actknowledge that Leona did have all her wild success by the time the nominations came out ha ha..any way Take That, sugababes or any of the other nominees only needed their fan base to vote whether their songs deserved it or not...Leona had even beaten Take That for the number one spot the week RULE THE WORLD and BLEEDING LOVE came out and still she lost the popular vote and the critical vote for the Brit awards, that's a fact no matter how you want to spin it! Again i like Leona's album and i was one of the many outside HMV waiting to get my copy signed, but these arguements are ridiculous.
Leona will get a BNA nomination, and most likely a Female Pop Vocal nod. I doubt she'll get Pop Album unless she garners another pretty big hit, and ROTY and SOTY for "Bleeding Love" are possibilities. So, in that sense, I think she will get some Grammy love in the form of a couple nominations at least. Will she win any? She may not. I don't think she's the overwhelming favorite to when anything even at this point.

I Bought the album on Sunday and it's a big possibility that she can get into "Pop Vocal Album" and with Clive behind her, what other competition does she have?
I'm not saying she'll win it but she can definetly get in, and if she wants to have stronger sales have her release "Take a Bow" or "I'm You" (More "Take a Bow")
I'm also loving "Yesterday"

Wow. Apparently Leona is set to close the Beijing Olympics ceremony. The individual(s) responsible for this young lady's promotion should never have to worry about job security. Leona has such a phenomenal voice, and she appears to be a lovely girl. She deserves the accolades.

I agree and disagree.
Amy Winehouse only had one hit and ok sales yet she still won five Grammys out of six nominations.
With that said, Leona's album is just ok. Part of the reason Winehouse won so much is because she had one of the best reviewed albums of the year. I definitely agree that Leona isn't the overwhelming favorite to win anything at this point. As we've seen in the past, big voiced divas (who aren't also songwriters, producers or musicians) are never overwhelming Grammy favorites in terms of wins. Hell, Whitney, Mariah, Celine and Christina, for instance, only have 21 Grammys between them. Yet Beyonce and Alicia Keys have 21 Grammys between the two of them.
Having said that, who can beat Leona for New Artist and Pop Female at this stage? It's been a crappy year for mainstream artists (aka the artists who actually have a chance at winning Grammys).
