As great a record as it is, I've been listening to "Bleeding Love" since mid October last year when they released it in the UK, so for me it's gotten somewhat old...I'm into "Better in Time" since late January and still enjoying it,now waiting to find out what the third single will be in the UK.

Yes she has a voice a good one at that but .......
She will be nominated somewhere at the grammys thou and hopefully Duffy
as much as i love her talent, the problem is we already have a Mariah and a Whitney, it's not like she's bringing something new..that been said i like ''footprints in the sand'' much better than ''bleeding love''
Yes absolutely, no one should ever aspire to sing because we already have singers.
Why even bother responding to something ignorant like that? lol
you don't have to hun, if just your opinion counted the world would be a boring place, everybody has the right to think what they do..
I just had to chime in on this because I found it absolutely ridiculous. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but yours is utter bull****. Your saying Leona isn't nothing big because we already have power vocalists like Mariah and Whitney. What kinda stupid reasoning is that? Are you that dumb? Honestly!!! Then why do we have Christina Aguilera? She idolized both Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston when she grew up. I guess there's no room for her because Mariah and Whitney just have better power vocals than her and there's no room for her music to make an impact. The same can be said about Leona Lewis as well??? Hmmm.. Dumbest logic I've ever read. There's a place for Leona in this industry. If there wasn't she wouldn't have had a major hit with Bleeding Love and the public wouldn't have been receptive to her music. She's been in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 since her albums release. Leona is hitting it big and there's no denying that. The fact is that the public welcomes much more ladies who have the power vocals that "MARIAH AND WHITNEY" possess.
if you had read my post correctly i never said there was no point in Leona being a singer, i just said that she is not doing anything new that Mariah or Whitney haven't done..that's a valid point, now being a christina fan myself, i'd say she has done more than enough to separate from mariah and whitney lirically and musically with her 2nd and 3rd album..again i'm not angry or upset or anything, in fact it's laughable the way you people go after a poster for writing their opinion..yikes!
I was just calling you out on your comments. If you explain yourself than that's great. Boards are meant for debate. Not everyone is always going to agree on everything. And when your talking about Christina, your talking about her when she was already on to her 2nd and 3rd album. Just remember Leona is a new artist and this is her first album. Anyone remember another big power vocalist winning Best New Artist with a poor debut album. CHRISTINA AGUILERA!!! She didn't write any of those songs and basically didn't have much input into her music early on just like Leona at this stage. What I'm trying to say is you need to give Leona time. This is early on into her career.

I've been listening to "Bleeding Love" since it debuted in the UK as well. I'm still not sick of it, it can get tiring but it's a song that I will never hate. Right now I'm really loving "Better In Time". I can't wait for this song to take off over here. I hope she films a new music video for it. I don't like the UK video.

I love "Better in Time" but I prefer the single mix to the album version...I also like the singlemix for "Footprints in the Sand" with the spoken intro!!! I don't have a problem with either video though, I think she looks absolutely beautiful!!!

She is def. talented. But I'm starting to think that the Academy won't give her the same love they gave to Winehouse.

I can't see her breaking the record of winning 5 grammys but She denietly has 2 maybe 3 nominations already, I have a really hard time seeing Bleeding Love in ROTY and/or SOTY she could get those nominations but with something else from her album (I'm still not sure which song yet but she can do it), as I've said before I think she can sell more if she releases "Take A Bow", That song is Sick!

I'm just curious why you really have a hard time seeing "Bleeding Love" in Record of the Year?

I don't know, probably because she has better stuff in her album (I'm really loving Yesterday and Take A Bow) and I don't get a ROTY feel from that song in particular but I wouldn't be surprised if she did get the Nomination, It is her first songle but for me it would be better if she got the nomination for something else

To me "Bleeding Love" is an epic love ballad which seems like a perfect fit in Record of the Year. Let's not forget it's domination on the charts. Worldwide this is the biggest hit of the year as well. You really think "Yesterday" & "Take A Bow" are the best tracks on the album? I like all the tracks on "Spirit" but I'm gonna have to disagree. "Bleeding Love" & "Better In Time" are the top 2 tracks on this album. Create a ranking of the strongest to weakest tracks on "Spirit". I'm gonna create one too..lol...I wanna compare with you.

I would disagree that its a"epic love ballad" for me it's a good song but it feels too "poppy" for me to be epic, "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face" would fit the bill out of the songs she released.
Define "Strong"
Here's my personal list (I'm not saying that they're the best song but my favorites)
1) Take A Bow 2) Yesterday 3) Here I Am 4) Footprints in The Sand 5) I Will Be 6) I'm You 7) Better In Time 8) Bleeding Love 9) Whatever It Takes 10) Forgive Me 11) Angel 12) The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face 13) Misses Glass

My ranking of Spirit:
1.Bleeding Love 2.Better In Time 3.Footprints In The Sand 4.I Will Be 5.Forgive Me 6.Take A Bow 7.Yesterday 8.The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face 9.Whatever It Takes 10.Here I Am 11.Angel 12.I'm You 13.Misses Glass
I like all the tracks and really enjoy the album.

So we agree on Misses Glass, Angel, Whatever It Takes , we're close on FITS & I Will Be, and we're really off on Take A Bow, Yesterday, Bleeding Love, Better In Time, I'm You, and Here I Am I like them all too, when I was at the music store I was asking myself if I should but the album or just download the songs that people recomended but now I don't regret buying it (You would be amazed by how many times I listen to it and try and reach her high notes )

I really love all the tracks as well, well I don't really love "Misses Glass" that much. It's still not a horrible song, it's an average album filler song. I just love listening to this album and hearing Leona's sweet vocals and artistry she puts into them especially on the Roberta Flack cover "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face".

Yes there were other tracks on the UK version of "Spirit" that did not make the American version. "Homeless", "A Moment Like This" & "The Best You Never Had".

Damn! Really? I'm not trying to be an a*shole, but how can you be on a Grammy board and not know this song is a cover? I mean "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" won ROTY & SOTY in 1972!
