The last Bond hit (and the only one that was even remotely a hit since the 80's) was Madonna's "Die Another Day". It hit # 8 on the hot 100.
Singing a James Bond theme song is more of a rite of passage than a way to have a hit. What was the last one to be all that successful?

Is Leona really going to be performing at the Opening Ceremonies for the Summer Olympics in Beijing? I've been hearing about this lately.

Her albums sales are still going strong and have been consistent each week.

Sure, "Bleeding Love" is still performing, but it's time to establish Leona Lewis as an ARTIST and not just a one hit wonder. She was marketed as an artist, so it's time to prove it. Not that anything on her album is as good as "Bleeding Love"...but I'm sure she can have a couple decent size hits from it.
The label could end up running the album into the ground if they don't start releasing other singles.

"Better In Time" has started to receive radio play before its adds date. It's slowly climbing while "Bleeding Love" is continuing to dominate the Pop/CHR airplay chart for another week.

Well considering "Better In Time" isn't going for adds for another month, I think the label's plan may be to try and break Donna Lewis' record of 13 weeks at #1 on the airplay chart.

She achieved her 12th week at #1 on Pop Airplay tying Flo Rida's "Low". If she's still #1 next week which looks likely she'll tie for the co-record holder with the other Lewis..lol...You don't think her label wants this for her. They want her to break records. I don't know what to think of your sarcasm..lol

I am sure they do and if she does, great. I was just pointing out that that achievement really didn't help Donna Lewis much. Instead of working for records that most won't even remember, they should focus on making sure she stays relevant in the industry for more than one single.

No!

She's is going to be performing at the closing ceremony as this is the handover from Beijing to her home town London- home of the 2012 Olympics.

Forgive Me is up on UK Amazon for pre order, but they have the release date as October 13th. Another site has the release date as Sept 22nd.

She has a problem in the UK, with 2 million albums sold it's unlikely that any of the tracks from the standard album will be able to chart. They plan to issue a deluxe album in the run up to Xmas with FM as the single. Pretty much how Rihanna released GGGB deluxe with TAB.

Also MTV Germany is reporting that Europe is to get Leona's "Take a Bow" as the next single with a video shoot in July.

"Better In Time" impacts radio July 14. It's approaching and the song has received a good amount of pre-add spins on pop radio already in at #57. This is just from radio play from nearly 1/4 of the panel (35 of 145 stations) a week prior to the adds date.

Better in Time
LEONA LEWIS
Producer(s): J.R. Rotem
Label: Syco/J/Sony BMG

Five months ago we loftily predicted that Leona Lewis was destined to become the top newcomer of the year. But who could have seen the overwhelming force field of "Bleeding Love," striking through playlist records at top 40, adult top 40, AC, rhythmic, even Latin? Now it's time to let go—before the song burns to a crisp—and rest assured, there are plenty more high achievers on No. 1 CD "Spirit." "Better in Time" is of equal caliber to its predecessor, with a one-listen hook, elegant chug-along melody, a lyric about healing ("Thought I couldn't live without you/It's gonna hurt when it heals too") and Lewis' unquestionably emotive vocal versatility. "Better" is as good as "Bleeding" and an equal bid for No. 1. Girl, start clearing room for a 2009 Grammy sweep. —Chuck Taylor

I actually like "Better in Time" more than "Bleeding Love," but obviously this guy doesn't follow the Grammy's at all if he thinks Leona is going to sweep. I mean seriously. At the MOST she will win two: Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal. That is hardly a sweep.

I agree, Troy. But I think part of the reason I like "Better in Time" more than "Bleeding Love" is because it's not on the radio every five songs (at least not yet).

Chuck Taylor from Billboard magazine has always been a fanboy of the artists he likes, I've been reading his reviews on the actual magazine since the early 90s and he always says his favourites are going to sweep the Grammys LOL!!!!! Billboard magazine is the equivalent of the Bible when it comes to charts but their reviews are always the weakest. Melinda Newman is a bit better in that magazine.

I like "Better in Time" better than "Bleeding Love as well, and I hope it is another #1 for Leona, but a Grammy sweep for Leona will not come through.
