I cant wait to see this. Def Jam has done alot for the world of music and is arguably the most important record label in Music today.
From the list of performers it looks like it's gonna be a HOT show! Method Man is performing with Mary J, Warren G is performing with Trey Songz, and of course Ja Rule is back singing with Ashanti again! Boy I cant wait. They taped the show last night at the same venus VH1 Divas was taped at.

- He's good no doubt; so let me rephrase: I don't care for his music
I love his energy and he had/has one of the best flows in hip hop (bold statement, but true).
I feel that as of his last 2 albums, he has been trying to incorporate more solid concepts into his work and he is slowly succeeding (Runaway Love, Mouths to Feed, Tell it Like it is, Slap, One More Drink, I Do it for hip hop, Do the right thang...etc).
He just needs to create entire albums with solid concepts from start to finish and step up his production. The fact that he is recording "Battle of the Sexes" shows artistic growth.
According to theybf.com, the show was an epic failure...
Russell Simmons sent a letter to the producers the next day, complaining about the entire show...from the host, to the lack of several key artists (apparently Jay Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, LL Cool J, Irv Gotti, Dame Dash, L.A. Reid and others skipped the event). Clearly, he was ****ed at the entire production of the show...
