I cant wait to see this. Def Jam has done alot for the world of music and is arguably the most important record label in Music today.

From the list of performers it looks like it's gonna be a HOT show! Method Man is performing with Mary J, Warren G is performing with Trey Songz, and of course Ja Rule is back singing with Ashanti again! Boy I cant wait. They taped the show last night at the same venus VH1 Divas was taped at.

I agree with Music Forever. They ruled the Music World in 2002 so it will be very interesting to see them together again.

I also cant wait to see Mary and Method Man perform " You All I Need"!

It's easy to "B" labeled the best when you have all the top producers and song writers doing your work for you.

I'm excited to see Foxy Brown perform. I used to really like her back in the late 90's.

I love his energy and he had/has one of the best flows in hip hop (bold statement, but true).

I feel that as of his last 2 albums, he has been trying to incorporate more solid concepts into his work and he is slowly succeeding (Runaway Love, Mouths to Feed, Tell it Like it is, Slap, One More Drink, I Do it for hip hop, Do the right thang...etc).

He just needs to create entire albums with solid concepts from start to finish and step up his production. The fact that he is recording "Battle of the Sexes" shows artistic growth.

According to theybf.com, the show was an epic failure...

Russell Simmons sent a letter to the producers the next day, complaining about the entire show...from the host, to the lack of several key artists (apparently Jay Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, LL Cool J, Irv Gotti, Dame Dash, L.A. Reid and others skipped the event). Clearly, he was ****ed at the entire production of the show...

I don't think Russell Simmons was mad at all. As a matter of fact he was twittering from the event and posting pictures.

He did mention LL Cool J was missed and that there shouldn't have been a show without him but no mention of JayZ, Kanye or Rihanna.

Here is a picture he posted http://twitpic.com/ivg5y and also http://twitpic.com/iwq35

From his "tweets" he seemed pleased with it.
