Guru, I really don't feel like going through those posts looking for Carrie Underwood's video for "Last Name". But if you didn't post, I'm not really sure if you did or didn't but here it is.
Such a bland video. Yeah she look sexy and it has T.I., but its a bland video. Which is no real surprise from her.
So true. But the song is hot. Her videos have always been rather blah. I'm not sure if this song will be the hit that her fans are predicting.
Coming off "Touch My Body" and "Bye Bye," both of which I thought were complete crap, i'm really surprised by how much I like this song. It's good for the summmer. I could live without T.I.'s part though. It seems like it was just tacted on to get radio play on rap stations.
I agree with everyone assmentment of the video though, it's lame. I expected more from Chris Applebaum, whose videos have done wonders for Rihanna (Umbrella, SOS) and even Paris Hilton (Stars are Blind).
Part of me has always wanted Bush to be reunited, b/c I still listen to "Sixteen Stone" from time to time, and there were some great tracks on that album. I'd like to see some of that spark regained on a new effort from them if possible. This is a good solo single for Gavin Rossdale, though that requisite hard edge is gone and it seems like he's going for something a bit more mellow and a/c. He still has that great bone structure and distractingly perfect teeth, and here he's lean and inexplicibly wet in scene after scene. There's not a lot of plot lines going here, just general artsy scenes and a general sense of loneliness and disillusionment on Gavin's part. A more upbeat lead-off single would have gotten him more attention though.

This is a pretty typical DC song, but that doesn't make it bad. A lot of critics say it's a standout from "Narrow Stairs", but it's really not my favorite. The video is pretty great tho. All four band members in a literal green room lipsynch the words while a wedding goes on. Pretty emotional, actually.
I can see this catching on more than "I Will Possess", and becoming the bigger grammy prospect, it might get pop group vocal or whatever.
