That is easily one of the worst videos I've ever seen. What the hell was that? I laughed out loud at the beginning when Mariah was laying on the couch wiping away a tear that didn't exist. Then I just had a confused look on my face through the first 3 minutes as we watched footage of Nick and her together, and watching her publicity tour for the album. Then the video decided to become a different video at the 3 minute mark and resemble what the song IS ACTUALLY about.
I'm waiting to hear that this video is actually a cruel joke.
Wow, that was bad.

Yea, the video looks kind of....cheap. Like one of those 5th single videos where the artist is too tired to make an actual video, so they just piece together random tour footage. I expected more from Mariah coming off "Touch My Body" and some of the better videos that came off her last album.

Mariah Carey is one of those artists that probably has the worst music videos, except a select few. She sucks at having cool music videos. Really sucks. I see why MTV never honored her. The only time she deserved it was probably with "We Belong Together". The rest, either she wasn't nominated or had tougher competition.

The video's a generic "guy's done me wrong" type treatment, but the song's a catchy enough one that's growing on me. Not sure if it merits being on a re-issue though, as it feels more like a later single from the next album. Rihanna will never be a powerhouse vocalist or anything, but she uses her limited range effectively, and I could see this being another hit for her. Wish she had the longer hair back, but decent video and better song.

The song is dramatic and overwrought, but it's one of the best songs that Ashanti's put out in a long time. What really elevates the song is this video, which couples present scenes of a jilted girlfriend to flashback surveillance scenes of the girlfriend plotting to kill her cheating ex-boyfriend and all of the smoking gun evidence. It's very "CSI"/"Law & Order"-ish, and I'm a bit surprised that it's being aired in the first place, as it gets fairly graphic in places. Kevin Bray is a director to watch out for in the future. Ashanti could be Grammy-nominated for this song in Female R&B Vocal Performance.

Mariah Carey, "Bye Bye"
The song is better in recorded form than when she performed it on "American Idol", and the sentiment behind it is a good one. The video comes off as hobbled together, disjointed, and cheap. What would have made it better would have been focusing in on one theme and examining that throughout, like the loss theme. All of the footage of her with Nick Cannon on vacation, the photo shoots, and the fake tears were silly and at odds with the song's lyrics. The only time the video resonated with the song was at the end with the images of the deceased singers (not sure about the random people that appeared). Those photos of Luciano Pavarotti, ODB, and Luther Vandross were tough to watch. This does come off as one of those 4th- or 5th-single tour videos that are released when an album is on its last hurrah, not the second single follow-up to a number one single.

Well, Rihanna is looking damn sexy in the video. Too bad Adam Levine has absolutely no on-screen personality, and thus contributes to a general boringness of the overall video. The song itself is pretty average too.

N.E.R.D. knows how to bring it everytime! The song is fresh, interesting and a definite party anthem. The video isn't anything new, but at least it's lively and represents the song. Plus, I love that Lindsay Lohan is willing to appear in a video about girls who do cocaine at clubs (at least she has a sense of humor)! This is definetly on par with other songs like "Lapdance," "Rock Star," and "She Wants to Move." Hope this hits big!
