She should've went into a R&B route. This sh!t sounds like sh!t. I still don't care for "Battlefield" and Ryan's production is getting tiring for real.
.... Even if you are a million miles away, I can still feel you in my bed, near me, touch me, feel me and even at the bottom of the sea, I can still hear you inside my head, telling me, touch me, feel me, and all the time you were telling me lies

wow. super surprised she covered "don't let it go to your head" which was originally on fefe dobsons unreleased album sunday love. it'll prob be a single cuz its an amazing song, but based on that clip fefe did it better
"Battlefield" was exploding for the last few weeks in airplay, and now it's really slowed down. Interesting.
Grammy FYC: Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak; Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D.; John Legend, Evolver; Paolo Nutini, Sunny Side Up; David Guetta, One Love; Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone"; Jordin Sparks, "Battlefield"; Kings Of Leon, "Use Somebody"; Maxwell, "Pretty Wings"
Just listened to all the song snippets for the new album and I have to say, I'm impressed. Sounds like a lot of growth and a strong sophomore release. I'm loving "Battlefield" too, so I hope she does well.

It's about time. That should help the song explode.

I heard "Battlefield" a few weeks ago and it's a fantastic song! The vocal is wonderful and it actually feels more like something Jordin really wanted to do. Much better than "Tattoo," which just seemed more like a quick "I just won 'Idol' so get me a single fast!" type of song.
The video is great and she sings the hell out of it. PLEASE get her a Pop Female nomination!
Having heard full version of some of the tracks that have leaked, I have to say that I am really starting to anticipate this album. Can't wait for the whole thing to leak. I'm loving It Takes More A LOT

I agree. I've predicted in the Pop Field thread that Jordin will sneak into Best Female Pop Vocal Performance this year with "Battlefield". The more I listen to it the more I like it. Her vocals are great.
I think this album is going to make or break Jordin Sparks, in terms of her career potential. Does she have what it takes? I will be interested to hear the album. Her first album in 2007 impressed me because it seemed to really reflect her young age, without making her into a mily cirus or demi lovato machine.
I think Battlefield was a great vocal performance, but I think the sigle lacks a connection with her core fans. I also think it was somewhat over the top in terms of the production element.
It does make me nurvous that Battlefield is losing steam on the charts and falling in airplay, because a sophomre album should have a blast-off single that erases the notion of a possible slump. If this single is slowing down, she should get another one out ASAP to keep herself relevant. There is a lot of new music coming out between now and the end of this year. She needs to keep the train rolling.
The song is continuing to get impressive updates on Pop Radio Airplay. The song is far from peaking. By the time the album drops, "Battlefield" should be approaching Top 10 on the Pop/CHR radio format charts. This is the same position "Tattoo" was in when she released her debut album.
I just finished listening to the Deluxe Version of Jordin's "Battlefield" album. I'm impressed. I'm liking all the tracks. Her vocals are amazing on this album. The 30 second clips put up on Amazon don't do the album justice.
I haven't listened to any of the leaked tracks, but Battlefield is growing on me. I didn't like her live performance of it on Idol earlier in the year, but, she seems to be more comfortable performing it now, and she sounded great in the youtube video GH posted.
I'll probably pick up the cd, as I think she has a great voice, and I'm hoping she can do well with this crucial sophmore album.
Blender Magazine on Kelly Clarkson: " The Texas native has one of the great voices in pop music, a powerful and versatile instrument that’s steeped in the rhythm and blues and country music she grew up with in the South. If Mariah Carey’s five-octave voice is the equivalent of an expensively bred poodle, then Clarkson’s is a bloodhound: friendly, earthy, but fierce just the same."
Baltimore Examiner (concert review): "Her sultry voice is absolutely flawless. The tone and range floors you. When she belts out a note, it's precise yet powerful."
"Music is powerful, it's a drug that makes your inhibitions go away and leaves your vulnerabilities exposed" - KC
