I couldn't disagree with you more. This album is full of pop hits that surely can appeal to the masses. And has the potential to sell millions and have HUGE singles. But America just hasn't caught on. You may call it mediocre, but there is so much music out there that is popular that is even MORE "mediocre", that there is no reason why Jordin shouldn't have success off this album.
I thought Jordin's sophomore effort was solid. There are a lot of potential singles on this album.
I just think Jordin released it at the wrong time. It's just bad timing. There's just too much female competition out there at the moment that is sucking up all the available radio spins on Pop Radio.
ie. Britney Spears, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa,Taylor Swift, Pink, Kelly Clarkson
Now add Rihanna to that list and its even more competitive.
I think Jordin is just getting lost in the shuffle of things. It's too bad because she has some great material on her "Battlefield" album.

Yes, she gets lost in the mix. but sad because she has some materials that is easy to market on the radio. Had it been effective, then she can establish herself better.
I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

I wouldn't exactly call it garbage, but...hell who am I kidding? Yes I would. Some of the songs on the album are banal pop garbage ("Don't Let It Go To Your Head," "No Parade," "Emergency," etc.).
I forgot all about this album. I think Jordin Sparks' problem is that her material is too bland and forgettable. She isn't doing anything to stand out from her pop contemporaries. So as a result, she gets lost in the shuffle. I haven't really liked any single from Battlefield.
Yeah, I might have spoken too soon about "S.O.S.". I see that it just popped up to #40 on the airplay charts today, and "Battlefield" is falling very slowly in airplay, so it might turn into a slowburn hit yet.
Grammy FYC: Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak; Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D.; John Legend, Evolver; Paolo Nutini, Sunny Side Up; David Guetta, One Love; Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone"; Jordin Sparks, "Battlefield"; Kings Of Leon, "Use Somebody"; Maxwell, "Pretty Wings"
Hopefully the song can salvage the album. I don't understand how people think her album is horrible. There are so many catchy pop tunes on this album. It's such a big improvement over her debut. That's damn for sure.
I keep requesting this song on POP radio in LA. My texts are non-stop... I really hope this song catches on. Its nice to see that some radio stations are playing it and that it's charging on itunes. Im also voting for it on VH1 Top 20 Countdown. MtV is giving it some love too...
