Well this CD isn't really new to me since it got its release in Canada and some parts of Europe back in August.
"The Fame" is finally getting it's US Release this coming week on October 28.
I'm just wondering if there are any fans of her music on these boards?
What does everyone thing about "Just Dance" her first single? I love it. It hit #1 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart for numerous weeks. It was a big hit up here as well as many other international markets.
Is this the first time some of you are hearing about her?
I personally love her sense of style and personality which gets conveyed onto her super catchy dance pop tunes.
Now this is what you can call great dance music. Just like Robyn.
I hope a lot of new people are exposed to this through the thread and hopefully most of you will like it. I'm looking forward to the discussion here. Hopefully we can change up the types of artists we do discuss on these boards. It tends to be the same ones over and over again.

I was wondering what happened. I heard "Paparazzi" on "Gossip Girl," and then "Poker Face" on Perez, and I really liked both. I was hoping something might come from this album, but it looks like it really has no buzz or momentum at this point.
They started playing Just Dance on Z100, a popular radio station in NY. I was really excited the first time o heard it on the radio, but couldn't understand why it took so long for it to finally get some play. This song SCREAMS HIT. The album is really really good. I love Pokerface, Boys Boys Boys, and Summerboy. I'm hoping that her album along with her singles become huge here in the states.

Listen to the ones I listed above, I'm pretty sure you'll love them.

"Starstruck" "Paper Gangsta" "I Like It Rough"
I don't understand how these songs didn't make the Canadian and European album version. Those songs are great.
The American release of her album owns all the other releases.
I Know right!!! Her album is brilliant POP and I will be buing it up tomorrow. I wonder if the song she produced for Britney will make Britnys Album?? I Think for a Debut album, its Fantastic and I love her. She is making real pop music out there. Awsome Talent
Holy!! These songs are fantastic! "Paper Gangsta" or "Love Games" has got to be the next single... it would do so well on radio! Actually, all these songs would do well as singles. I also have to say that the "Poker Face" video is one of the best videos I have seen this year, next to "Disturbia" and "Womanizer".

I really love "Just Dance", but I have this hard time of taking her seriously. Has there ever been someonoe who's "first name" is Lady that isn't a drag queen?
I just keep picturing Lady Bunny every time I hear/say/write/read Lady Gaga's name

It'd be easy to dismiss a 22-year-old debut artist sporting a blonde Cher wig, hooded Catwoman suit and glowing staff she calls the "disco stick"—but not if she delivers an album full of hits. Lady Gaga's first single, the heavily synched "Just Dance," is now impacting the Pop 100, after a summer of burning up the dance charts. But full-length "The Fame" proves she's more than one hit and a bag of stage tricks. The album borrows sonically from hip-hop, dance-pop and modern R&B but has the glam-rock soul of Gaga's beloved Queen and David Bowie. "Poker Face" and "Love Game" carry the pleather-and-sequins vibe of the downtown New York scene out of the underground and onto the FM dial without losing its smut and sass. Comparisons to acts like Scissor Sisters and Princess Superstar are inevitable, but Gaga's got a shrewder pop ear. —Kerri Mason
I love this girls music. She is very creative with her musical directions and catchy lyrics which she writes herself. I'll be buying a copy of "The Fame" tomorrow. I'm so tempted now to just purchase it on iTunes, that's not a bad price.
