However if it wouldn't be for the direction of the look and camera, Victor Fleming would be my choice...GONE WITH THE WIND is a pretty terrible film in my opinion (no I don't just mean subject matter), not to mention the fact that Fleming got all of the credit but other directors had their hand in it, especially George Cukor who pretty much directed Viven Leigh's entire performance (Leigh & Fleming did not get along at all) and let's face Leigh is heads and shoulders better than anything else in the film.
