I like how the Oscar thing is and I want to use that format and do a Emmy one and sees if that takes off. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon Cryer as Alan Harper, Two and a Half Men (CBS) Kevin Dillon as Johnny "Drama" Chase, Entourage (HBO) Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson, How I Met Your Mother (CBS) Jack McBrayer as Kenneth Parcell, 30 Rock (NBC) Tracy Morgan as Tracy Jordan, 30 Rock (NBC) Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute, The Office (NBC)
An bland lineup if you ask me.
And w/o Jeremey Piven in the category and based on tapes there was no contest easily Rainn Wilson had the best tape and should've taken this hands down.
Based on buzz Neil Patrick Harris was the one everyone expected to win.
I don't think no one, besides a select few, saw Jon Cryer taking this. While looking at it initially I was ticked off, but again looking at the nominees and tapes his win was not the worst in the world considering so many other deserving supporting actors in this genre are overlooked for the same old it doesn't offend me that Jon Cryer is an Emmy winner.
Jack McBrayer & Tracy Morgan, even though I prefer Jack, are interchangable and are equally funny.
Kevin Dillon nomination was expected, but what he submitted was stupid on his part and if the voters were to remember that for next yr. hopefully he'll be excluded in favor for someone who is more deserving and would pick a good tape.

Here's my rankings for that year: Very very weak category.
6. Kevin Dillon. He seems to really be upset when Cryer's name was called but he did not submit something to be considered for an Emmy. He used to be a good submitter during his last two years but this year he submitted badly.
5. Jon Cryer. An okay submission but nothing that screams winner. Til now I say he does not deserve the win.
4. Tracy Morgan. He submitted his best shot actually. But I just don't like the character of Tracy Jordan, and I don't find him hysterically funny.
3. Jack McBrayer. He's the better of the two 30 Rock men but this is not his best submission.
And this is where it becomes difficult.
2. Neil Patrick Harris. He submitted an okay submission which still is miles better than the other four competitors. However, I've always loved the character of Barney and I am more than willing to vote for him any other year but for this year, I cant beccause of...
1. Rainn Wilson. This is his best submission since he got nominated, and he was screwed big time. He was perfect in this tape and the only thing I see beating him that time was NPH's popularity. Tape wise, he had it.
Rainn Wilson
I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

It would help if you listed the episode titles for these Emmy nominees' polls. For this category/year:
Cryer: "Sir Lancelot's Litter Box" Dillon: "Tree Trippers" Harris: "Rewards" McBrayer: "The Bubble" Morgan: "The Funcooker" Wilson: "Heavy Competition"
Congratulations, Primetime Emmy Winners!

Rainn Wilson's tape was the standout of the group by a mile, and with Jeremy Piven sadly absent from the list for petty reasons, this should have been an easy Emmy win for Wilson. I'd place Neil Patrick Harris second for "Rewards", though he's been better in some of his past submissions. It would have been one of those fun Emmy moments for the host to win for the first time though. The "30 Rock" guys were kind of interchangeable, though Tracy Morgan had more to do in "The Funcooker" than I remembered, and Jack McBrayer's tape helped Morgan out somewhat. He didn't have much to work with in "The Bubble" on his own. Jon Cryer's win is still appalling even in this lineup. If he had submitted "His Exalted Cyclops" instead of "Sir Lancelot's Litter Box", I might have placed him a slot higher, but he still shouldn't have won with this slapsticky tape with no real substance to it. Kevin Dillon would have been top three material if he had submitted "Fire Sale," but he didn't, and instead picked a boneheaded tape choice with "Tree Trippers", which lands him in sixth place.
Rankings:
1. Rainn Wilson, "The Office" ("Heavy Competition") 2. Neil Patrick Harris, "How I Met Your Mother" ("Rewards") 3. Tracy Morgan, "30 Rock" ("The Funcooker") 4. Jon Cryer, "Two and a Half Men" ("Sir Lancelot's Litter Box") 5. Jack McBrayer, "30 Rock" ("The Bubble") 6. Kevin Dillon, "Entourage" ("Tree Trippers")
