Once again, the CBS sound engineer needs to be fired, or at least shot, or have Hope Davis vomit on them.
Also, why aren't the 4 stars of Guys & Dolls performing?
Well, at least I got to see Lauren Graham look like my future wife in that green dress. I'm in love with her!

THRILLED for Angela Lansbury...Five Time Tony Winner!!!
They REALLY love God of Carnage, as evidenced by the fact that they gave the Director award to Matthew Warchus for this instead of The Norman Conquests.
I have to see Rock of Ages after that number!
Yeah, the Mamma Mia! number was very flat. It bombed.
What was up with James Gandolfini's scowl during NPH's opening monologue? That guy must be a major a**hole in real life. Lighten the hell up, Gandolfini!
Yes, you have to YoungRestlessOne, go see Rock of Ages. I told everyone I knew right after I saw it. The OCR is available on iTunes right now. It'll be in stores first week in July I believe.
Also, someone call for help, a giant @$$ bow is attacking Lucie Arnaz!

Karen Olivo's speech made me tear up, but I have to say....I'm not thrilled by the Featured, Musical winners.
Gregory Jbara was fine in BE, but that award should've gone to either Will Swenson who rocked it as Berger in Hair or David Bologna, who single-handedly stole Billy Elliot with his Express Yourself number.
Featured Actress should've gone to Haydn Gwynne or Jennifer Damiano.
That sound engineer should be canned. What the hell is wrong with the sound??? It almost ruined the number from Next to Normal. But the phenomenal cast and score saved the day. Damn if I didn't cry watching that number!! Bravo to Next to Normal! I loved it on Broadway and can't wait for it to tour so I can see it again.

If I'm not mistaken, Geoffrey Rush is a Grammy away from the awards grand slam.
"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)
Yes, Geoffrey Rush won the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Miniseries/ Made for Television Film for "The Life & Death of Peter Sellers."
The sound tonight has been horrible and have done its best to ruin the telecast.
Congratulations, Primetime Emmy Winners!

I don't get a chance to see a lot of Broadway shows because I don't have any cash to speak of. I thought the "Next to Normal" performance was certainly impactful but felt a little strange. I suspect it works better in the context of the rest of the show.

Back to Rush, not only does he have an Oscar, Tony, and Emmy, but he won them all as a lead actor. Has anybody else done that?
Anyway, if I were Rush, I'd be on the phone to my agent looking for an audiobook to read pronto.

Absolutely. N2N is (I think) a hard show to sell with random musical performances, but as part of the entire story it's beautiful.
Lead Actress in a Play: Marcia Gay Harden, "God of Carnage"
The cameras mixed up Harriet Walter and Janet McTeer. Boooo.
